Looks quite Old, maybe time to upgrade to a new one. Looks like that was made before I was born.:moose:

Worst case scenario just drill and counter sink screw underneath base and through shaft and use a bit of epoxy where crack then leave it on a shelf.

Thanks guys. I had the rod and reel on a tree branch to keep it out of the way of a young Lab, and the wind moved the branch. Down on the rocks it fell.
Those old Swede Cardinals were/are outstanding reels. I have one gray one like yours and a 3 and 4 in the old green. I’ve yet to handle any modern reel that matches the quality. Drags are fantastic.
Right on Fenelon! I have a collection and that's all I use. Both 3's and 4's. I've upgraded the spools to aluminum and will be passing these on to the kids and grand kids.Quote:
