Archery moose hunt

We are heading up to Nakina on Saturday for our first archery moose hunt. Looking forward to hunting moose during nice weather instead of cold and snow. Hoping they will be in the rut.
I have been practicing my calling so hope that works out. We are bring our fishing gear and plan to rent boats for some between hunts walleye fishing.
I'm packing my Excalibur Matrix G340 with G5 Striker V2 broadheads.

We had a great hunt but no moose. The weather started to cool down nicely at the end of the week so I would suspect this week's hunters will take advantage of the rut firing up.
Not much sign for us and we hunted several different locations in our area. Logging road, swamps and beaver ponds. The area looked very moosey but no signs of the rut happening.
We saw lots of ATV's, canoes and campers heading north on our way home. Looks like we were a week to early.

Too bad about the moose, how was the fishing?

That is part of the hunt though-how were moose signs overally?Like beds,tracks(fresh and old mixture) etc

Its like there were no moose in the area, very disappointing

We didn't hunt grouse but did catch some pike off of the dock

Was up the week after you not far from 18a,
we didn't get any responses till the 26th and then we heard 2-5 bulls a day and called lots close till we shot our bull on the night of the 30th,

You hunted at night ....?!!!!

sorry the afternoon at 7:45 pm.
The kill is on video so I know exactly what time it was shot

I was west of Thunder Bay. We didn't have much action the Saturday and Sunday. Monday the 26th I filled the bull tag.

The bull was fired up and marched into 13yds at one point. The bolt flew at 37 yds.
