I have watched a few hunting shows where they did this exact thing with good success. If you think about it, it is better than setting up a ground blind or tree stand new to the area.
Deer would see the old building as just part of their natural surroundings.
Man I wish there was something like that on the property we hunt on. I imagine its 100x warmer too LOL

But I can't shoot from my house right? Wrong?
I have climbed up some rickity hideouts in the past but yeah I will use anything that is safe and maybe if it is iffy. I would not let my son go on anything that looked iffy.
all fun and games till the home owner shows up
The property I hunt for deer has a few old outbuildings immediately adjacent to one of the fields where we hunt. The loft with a window is a decent spot, particularly when it gets wet out.
On my family property in Iowa, one of the most productive blinds is an old grain bin with windows cut in it. Right on the edge of an oak bush with corn fields behind it and to the side. a grass hill with scattered oaks to the front that gives way to a CRP field. Many deer have been taken from that blind, including a 165 inch typical buck. Too bad it’s so expensive to hunt there as a nine resident.
