Post your deer mounts!

Controlled hunt is a week and a half away.
Wanna get the juices going.

Would love to see some mounts and stories!

I'll start.


My dad took this guy in the morning 2019 I believe. About a 150 yard shot with shotgun. Rifled barrel biggest deer hes shot to date. Was on the edge of a field he was set up in the middle of the field in a pop up blind.

Don't have a good picture of the mount but he did everything himself.

I'm waiting to get a nice buck. I will bring it to the taxidermist and do a full shoulder mount. Attachment 44151

I had a taxidermist mount the antlers of the first buck that I ever shot (a 10-pointer) on a plaque. The skull cap is covered in suede leather. Cost me $125 back in 1986. Since then, I usually just cut the skull cap off and fasten the antlers to the wall. A few years back, I shot a decent buck and gave the head to a friend who got a taxidermist to do a European mount.

The antlers shown in this picture are from a massive buck shot over 70 years ago. The photo doesn’t do the antlers justice as the rack is massive Attachment 44155

I just did this guy a week ago, took me about six hours from start to finish, I call him the DVP and Eglington buck.

Sam that rack has some serious mass to it.

Anyone do a shoulder mount recently?

As tag shows that was 2017 and i believe was around 5 or 6 hundred. Taxi was wildlife artistry on Hwy 9 between Orangeville and Grand Valley.

Well he is going to be a European mount, but my dog is doing some trimming right now. This one is a second Don Valley Parkway buck, this time at Dundas Street East last night.

I am lucky to have a family friend who does taxidermy as a side hobby. And he is also very good at what he does so extra lucky.

The bear on the left and the whitetail were shot on Manitoulin Island. The bear on the right was shot at Burks Falls. Sorry I know this was to be a whitetail thread, but two bears jumped in the picture:ashamed:

Not your fault - I started it. Bear is better eating anyways. And solid looking deer - nice!

Very true Joe. Bear roast at hunt camp is always the first to go

Couple of 8 pointers and my biggest tom from the old property that got sold.
Have a buddy that works at the skull store in Toronto, so I usually get them to euro it for me.

2020 and 2016 Campbellford area, 2021 was Gravenhurst area. Need to add a pic of my personal best, scored 142 3/4"

Nice thread idea, some good looking mounts here.

Thank you. The barn board is off the neighbouring farm for the two bucks on the left. I enjoy thinking that those bucks may have ran by the barn. Luckily harvested two more decent bucks in the controlled hunt next week so will need to find some more space in the garage for them.

Nice! We got 3 on Thursday. 2 does and I shot a very small buck. Just stubs. I thought it was a doe if I knew it was a little buck I would have let it go. We did see a giant 10 point walked off the road down the street by the time I got my shotgun and ran across the street he was already up the ridge. Next year he'll be on my wall hopefully !
