Haven't been hearing to many shots here (81a) and same with my uncle in 82.
Not many posts of deer either it seems like?
The weather is deff playing a part. We've only seen 3 does. My cameras have dried up out of no where as well.
Anyone else getting any movement or success??
Still early i know usually we have at least 1 by the second day. Hopefully tonight reaps some rewards.

Yesterday it was a dog walker coming through, today a young girl on her phone walking the trail.... Neither one should be there but such is life.

I shot one Monday evening in 82a. Only one we saw for the day, on the meat pole!
Unfortunately I’m at work all week. I’m hopeful to get out next week. Until then, I’m living vicariously through the most of you. Keep those posts and pictures coming.
I had to come home last night for work commitments but our gang in 49 took a doe Monday night and a 9-point buck Tuesday morning.
The rest are still there until Friday
With the frost this morning I think it had some of them moving. Seen a deer middle of the field walking in this morning. Just eyes darting across the field. Still no luck for us yet.

Grandson got beauty 8 pt mon. morning and I got a 8 pt. mon. evening. passed on a doe. This in 82A and 84, we live at the north end of these WMU'S
Ummmm, forgot to sight in my Shotgun so using the crossbow, tonight my son will use the crossbow from his stand and I will use his gun for still hunting.
Hmm interesting. Everyone I've talked to only seen on first day. I'm hearing shots today as well. Guy across from us fired like 5 or 6 shots an hour ago

Pretty quiet in 90B, our gang normally limits out by Wednesday every year. Not this year.only seen 3 small does..

Noone has seen a big buck in daylight yet, Two guys have seen big bucks in the dark on drive to hunt or on way home. Currently 19 degrees and sunny as I sit on my stand. Terrible weather
Dude. We were leaving the property this morning and seen a GIANT 10 point. When I say giant I mean massive. He was literally maybe 40 yards from the road in a overgrown field. By the time I got out of the truck he ran up a hill slowly and disappeared. This was at like 11:30 am.Quote:

My uncle shot a doe in the morning on Monday before he could get down from his stand a 4 point came blasting through the bush and he put him down too.
All the parties I've talked to basically have only took does for the most part.
In any case if you still got your tag, next week should be a great week. Should be pooping snow hard.

I’m in 82a. We shot a buck Monday morning and I got one Tuesday night. Shaved one on Wednesday morning. Nothing yesterday we’ll see today ( Friday ) and tomorrow. Warm weather has everything shut right down. All the cameras also
It doesn't help that WMUs 81 and 82 have one game warden per zone! I have seen very few tracks in the spots we hunt birds in. Usually the deer rip trails and corn apart, but not this year. Yeah the warm weather doesn't help, but I think poaching has a lot to do with. The windmill roads have opened opportunities for poachers to trespass and get on properties with ease. I spoke to one landowner that told me stories that would shock everyone. Guys trespassing on posted properties all the time. Stories of hunters vandalizing property owners homes or belongings cause they were confronted about trespassing or driving through crops with ATVS or pickups to get to spots. Incredible, and disgusting! There is also a rumor going around that poachers are selling deer meat black market to restaurants??? Anybody else hear the same??
Yes I've heard the same. 2 landowners have told us they hear shots before and after daylight all fall. Pretty sickening if true.Quote:
