Our group of 4(2 doe tags) went into this year very optimistic due to numerous daytime sightings leading up to opening morning. I took a 5 pt at 6:50 am opening morning and my brother took a spikehorn 1 hour later. A number of ticks on the neck of the 5 pt. The buck I shot in 78B was absolutely covered in ticks (100's) his one "armpit" had at least 15 fully engorged ticks

Well for my part of 60 during the time I spent there I found things very quiet. Heard one shot opening morning and maybe four for the rest of the week. A lot of folks pulled out down my road on the Wednesday of the first week. Almost zero signs of the rut being in progress, weather pretty mild for daytime movement.
First butcher up in Gooderham had 4 deer hanging on the Tuesday, second butcher in Trent Hills had a few animals through but was expecting a large number by the Saturday. Ralph's in Norwood had given me a estimate of 2 weeks to get a deer cut, so either he is real slow or got a real lot of deer to process.
