OPP cop killer was on bail after prior officer assault

I posted another article a few weeks back about a US Gun smuggler who got off due to our incompetent legal system... unfortunately here is another SAD SAD example that resulted in the tragic death of a beautiful young OPP officer...

WHY is the government so focused on law abiding gun owners and WHEN will they get tough on criminals? I am contacting my local MP (again) to ask these questions...

[COLOR=#191919]McKenzie and Stewart-Sperry appeared briefly Wednesday afternoon at the Cayuga courthouse, where they were remanded into custody until their next appearance on Jan. 17. A judge ordered the pair not to communicate with a list of potential witnesses and family members of the slain officer.
[COLOR=#191919]Court records show McKenzie was released on bail on June 27 after spending nearly six months in custody after Hamilton police arrested him a year ago.

[COLOR=#191919]McKenzie, of no fixed address at the time, was arrested on Dec. 1, 2021, and charged with a dozen offences including assault with a weapon, assaulting a peace officer, assault, possession of a firearm without a licence, carrying a concealed weapon, mischief and possession of counterfeit money.
[COLOR=#191919]The gun involved was a handgun with its serial number removed and McKenzie was under a pair of weapons bans imposed by judges in 2016 and 2018, the documents say.
[COLOR=#191919]The death of Pierzchala, the fifth Ontario police officer killed on-duty since September, drew condolences from police forces and politicians and outrage from some police officers.

this is just so sad. its not the gun it the person behind it that is the problem.

The loss of anybodys life is a bad loss, but at the hands of a known criminal, prohibited from owning firearms, this was a fugitive at large, not out on bail, he missed his court date back in September, this is blood on the hands of our government, they dropped the ball, this guy should've been locked up,

Without doubt,this why we hear "crickets" from the usual political grave dancers and pro gun control advocates. This on THEM,100%.

Because guns are on the agenda. It doesn't matter what happens they are focused on an agenda and taking firearms out of the publics hands.

End of story it's part of the sdg that they are working on. Easy to pick on the little guys, you are law abiding citizens and a minority. Mandates will push the larger crowds to further the agenda. The Canadian agenda is tied to the un the un is tied to warp speed global resets.

Means you'll have less guns and be happy with the ones they let you keep lol.

Not to sure why you believe the pro gun control advocates are remaining silent? It might be out of respect for the fallen officer.

This incident is right up their alley ,if guns were not so readily available this would not have happened?

This has much more to do with the revolving justice system door that has been releasing dangerous criminals back onto the streets for at least the past 45 years.

Absolutely nothing new, bail is given much to easily and always has been.

But its not always the fault of the COURTS, many a time a suspect has been held in jail on remand for years in some cases only to see a criminal trial fall apart because the case was not put together right in the first place. So the Courts err on the side of caution and release the
suspect.

No amount of gun control will ever prevent this. You hit the nail on the head with the revolving door bail system. It's gotten beyond ridiculous. Gun control advocates having respect is a non-starter. It would be a first if true. Questions won't stop there,though. The suspect was wanted on an outstanding warrant for fail to attend court on a firearm prohibition order violation and a bail revocation. Why wasn't he actively being sought and scooped up immediately? Back in the day,the world would have stopped and we'd have been on him like junkyard dogs with the warrant in hand. It looks like the whole system collapsed and this young PC paid the price.

I have no stake on this-but is it not the same mantra what our Oh so Progressive Oh so Understanding and Oh so inclusive Government wants "everyone"to belive in?

Guns that are "readily available" in America and easily smuggled into Canada past a government more interested in spending hundreds of millions, soon to be billions, compensating legal gun owners for their "assault-style rifles."

If illegal guns were not readily available in this country, like said above, we would have a lot less shootings, and also like said above, spend our money where it needs to spent, on the criminals, not the legals,

Those tactics have been in use,here,for quite some time,now. It's a credit to our training that the net results haven't been the same,although,sometimes, it doesn't seem that way..

Compensating? I would like to know where he thinks he is going to get the money for all these payouts. He has no clue to the enormity of the situation..then to be fair..he never has had a clue about anything.

There is a well established legal precedent in Canada that while government can take your property in the public interest it must fairly compensate you for it. Governments know this which is why they didn't ban handguns but let owners keep the ones they have. It is why in the 1990's various weapons were grandfathered when people refused to give them up voluntarily. No compensation and see you in court.

The legal precedent can disappear like a puff of smoke. The Charter states quite specifically "........except where prescribed by law" and ".....for the greater good of society". Either one or both can be used by a sitting government. With a Liberal regime in power,guess which way that goes? I'm really surprised they haven't used that by now.

I think( can be wrong) they will sit this out-and wait.

Meanwhile-no legal owner gets paid-no legal owner can use them guns for anything. Just to stare at them ...
This is a win-win for the Government.

Guns NOT taken away-no need for payout.
Guns banned-Public believes that the Government actually did something for the safety of citizens..

This monster proves how effective gun control is. He’s had a lifetime firearm ban on him for years

From what I have read, his body cam showed all that happened , and for one- if not the first time, that camera info will be used in court. His police station had just recently outfitted all Officers with a body cam.

Heard a little on the radio tonight driving home, the Police Services are telling Trudeau that they do not have the resources to collect guns, but he states the Police will be involved and a possible third party. Last I heard they will be paying compensation.

By using the letters sdg are you referring to "Sustainable Development Goal" or do those letters stand for something else? It is best if you use a set of letters to make a point, that after you used them spell out in brackets what they stand for.

Yeah it's a sustainable development goal

Since it is a goal anything that happens will always be used against us all the time.
Now the question is it about safety or a goal for the continued push. A goal would include the latest round of shotgus and rifles since they are not assault military grade style type weapons.

A goal would also use the tactics we are seeing and using a 30 year old cases to demonize them. Guns are bad because 30 years ago that happened is what they got lol.

Using other countries with less gun control and regulations as examples but it's not even close to the same here in Canada. We have rules and regulations that are pretty tight already, and they admitt they are taking from law abiding citizens. Crazy lol. Law abiding citizens imagine that not criminals.
