Headed north for the day I head up at least once season. Last year I didn't make it think I got covid when I was planning to go and renovating the bathroom so I had to isolate for a week without parts I needed to continue the bathroom lol. Then it was all simcoe.
So having been skunked the previous year I was was out the door and on the rd by 430am. The plan was if the morning failed I would head further and fish nipissing for the afternoon. I was ready to walk 2 km to a spot I've never fished but looked promising from a map of the lake . Drilled my first set of holes shallow those holes were basically the only holes that had consistent mark's. The morning was mayham marking every 10,15 minutes lost 3 fish half way up lifted 2 missed 3 or 4 others lol. Landed the first fish at 9 am a nice 18 inch trout.
By 11 if was starting to slow down so I headed a little deeper fished 2 spots for 30 minutes each didn't see anything so it was back to the og holes. Next hour had a few more marks come in and lost another a ft of the bottom, then it went dead. At 2 30 the fish started coming back in a little less aggressive but manged 3 more trout by 4 30.
Kept my limit of trout the 18 and 19 incher the other 2 one was about size as I kept and the other a bit larger around 21 22 inch.
It sucks I couldn't get a whittie I know for sure I lost one and judging by the marks I missed another. But all in all it was another great northern adventure it just keeps getting better as I learn the lake.
Lost one fish in the morning it was a nice one had a good fight screamed back to the bottom twice then got away.
Anyway now it's time to get on simcoe the whitties are calling me haha. First I gotta fish Saturday morning for a few hours . Lake simcoe jumbo throwdown starts then. Gotta put some fish on the board.
Here are a few pics this little small lipless took a few.
