Is anybody able to get through by calling, I've called lots in the past couple days and basically it says that they are too busy to answer the phone, I submitted back in January, they notified me right away that my picture was no good and now when I go on the website it says to check back later, I still have lots of time but....
Oh yes. The liberals couldn't get the gun ban done so next up is don't let anyone renew their PAL.

Well if you have been following the MSM in the past two weeks you would have heard that the Federal Unionized members are going on strike, so I would not be very surprised if this is simply a slow down action. Nothing to do with conspiracy theories or gun bans or other "the sky is falling stuff" LOLQuote:

I submitted mine online, took about a month and I just got it last week. No complaints on my end, I gave myself 6 months and only needed one.
I finally got through, I guess it's with Ontario CFO, I still have lots of time, not worrying yet, I'm glad I sent it in early!!
On the third day of calling the Ontario CFO to get a ATT and change of address done I made sure I was on the phone first thing in the morning and got to talk to someone within 20 minutes of waiting and she even emailed me the official paperwork before I was off the line with her. As for renewing a PAL ? Doesn't that go through the RCMP (which can't strike) but I guess the civilian staff can ? I sent mine in last year via snail mail and had no issues.

I did mine on line at the end of January. They sent me a notice that my photo wasn't acceptable{ I did it on my phone with the same background as last one} in March so I got a pass port photo and mailed it to them by registered mail. No word since.
My current one doesn't expire until the end of October.

I did my picture with my camera and didn't even bother to resize. However if you want to get your pic done at a store, Shoppers drug store can do it and if they don't know what a PAL is tell them to look in their book it's in there and tell them it's similar to the PAS port photo just a different size. We did my son's at Shoppers.

Got a letter in the mail today from RCMP. They said the cost for renewal was $64 and change not $60 as the forms I picked up and filled out clearly stated. As I sent a cheque, I have to resend another $4+ to get my form processed. Hopefully it goes just as quickly.

It hasn't been legal now for quite a few years to have duplicate Firearms licenses. Used to be, but not now. We used to get mail order purchases where the customer would send us one and have another sent to another dealer at the same time. Went like this for years. Then all of a sudden they seemed to catch on that this was happening and they changed the laws. Bummer.Quote:

Has it always said you must detach and carry this useless piece of paper from the bottom of the letter? I just read it and it says "you must be able to provide both your license and the license conditions" how the heck is this piece of paper going to last 5 1/2 years in my wallet?

I got a passport photo done at our local shoppers. Not really necessary however why give them a reason to reject the photo due to a technicality! :)
My fiancé and my mother both applied in December. Mom did it online and was approved and card arrived in a couple months. Fiancé applied a couple weeks after by mail and was only approved in September, still waiting on card in the mail
Applied on Sept. 18, took a cell phone photo (payed extra attention on requirements). Got my renewed license in the mail this morning. 15 days in total, so no complains here.
Don't know about the Firearms license, I'm talking about the Out of Doors card. You can buy duplicates on line from the govt.Quote:

Sorry, you referred to both in your post so I thought I should let you know about the PAL.
Mine is up in March, opted to get it going sooner rather than later. Submitted about a month and half ago and got it within a week or two. I couldn't believe how quick it was. I assumed it was going to be hell based on all the rhetoric.
