I think this is the video, Something about this just totally screams fake news.
https://www.ute.com/video/juK8kx6gE5aj/
Weird my link doesn't work either
Seems like OOD is changing the link when I save it
you have to add "bit chute" to the link right with the "ute"
Really???? It doesnt like the word b i t c hute
I think it's being filter because of the first 5 letters "bit" "ch"
This video is 2 people in hazmat suits put some sort of liquid in water/river. 2 conservation officers are there. The CO say they are there to protect the 2 guys in hazmat suits. The person recording is claiming dead fish in water
So I post this video, first response is "fake news" second response is a MOD with nothing to see here ....virus ....stay away. I won't bother you guys with anymore posts. Thanks
He mentions Mirmachi River which is located in NB.
Now he could be talking about this https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-b...none-1.6066761
Why is this only being reported on this site, something is very very very fishing here.
yup next you'll read gov'ment setting fires as a make work project :rolleye:
Well that has been done before in NB by locals usually around Mirmachi and it happened twice..
Actually I think it falls under fishing
But this video is probably true to some point but the person decided ON PURPOSE to leave out the facts.
He seemed to even know the CO's and they seem to know him.
Smallmouth bass are not native to NB and will destroy what remains of the Atlantic Salmon population and thus the government has resorted to killing them off using rotenone.
Yup that article is exactly what the Video is about . I hindsight I can now honestly say the guy ion the video would rather see the salmon and trout dies. He knew exactly what was going on.
Hardman a little bit of research and you could have found out the truth. You refused to research it and took if for Gospel and purposley wanted to spread it without knowing the truth so yes FAKE NEWS.
Let's get some more information out here.
https://www.miramichismallmouth.com/background
So I posted that to see if anyone knew what was going on. After your fake news comment I knew I made a mistake in asking anyone on this site. After the post had done my own research as well to find out what this was about. I had asked a question and did not take it for gospel. I'm am surprise nobody was able to twist this into some right left political augment. Good job on research GreatWhiter, your opinions on my intentions are very misguided and not needed.
This is how things are supposed to work.
Someone brings a question and the answer comes out.
Thank you.
The majority of fires are started by humans.
What is fishy with these fires is that the government brought in foreign workers before they asked our own resources for help.
They brought in people while ignoring thier own people from 3 major cities in Quebec. That had resources to go. Also saw another video with volunteers with over 200 years of experience that was told they were not needed.
https://montrealgazette.com/news/loc...offer-declined
https://montrealgazette.com/news/loc...france-instead
Also they wanted to help but no it ok they got this.
In the video I saw it said that when truedue says they did everything they could to save your house its just another lie. That's when they denied the 200 years of experience and I believe they were air bombers.
Why are they not using all the resources they can ? I saw the video about 3 days after the second link. And it does make ya wonder if you want the video I can also send that.
Ps the biggest fire in the US last year was started by the government in a failed controlled burn.

What resources should they have used locally? You require proper training to fight fires, it's not just something you learn on youtube.
So if any of these untrained people died would you personally pay the lawsuits? Please answer yes.
No you cannot take the resources from the fire stations.
We have been importing people to help fight forest fires for over 30 years.
Read the post they are fire fighters trained professionals that are willing to help. What they didn't know is how many were available but they had willing and able body's to help.
But hey the longer it burns the better for their push. You would think any help is better than saying we have the worst fires in decades but choose to leave people sidelined that are willing and able to help lol.
They have firefighters in 3 major cities in Quebec watching their province burn that want to help.
I'm pretty sure they refused water bombers from the east coast as well. Why are they refusing them and saying they have enough while 46 burn uncontrolled doesn't make any sense.

About the original post I'll get back to this .

So take them from other resources, I am going to assume you will offer to compensate those resources being removed. I will also assume you know fighting forest fires is different then fighting a house fire. I am still expecting to you to offer compensation. I know you would be willing to sign a paper. Please state it on here at minimum.
They were not taking them other resources they they had available bodies willing to help.
Taken from the second link I posted.
"She said as the city with the province’s largest fire department, Montreal has some firefighters to spare, but she did not know how many could be freed up to be deployed. Plante said Laval and Longueuil have also let the province know they have firefighters available to act as reinforcements."
That means they have available bodies without taking all the resources away.
"Firefighters to spare" ? But not needed to fight the worst fires in a long time.
Right .
If they have the spare bodies they should of been there.

You do realize that it is totally different fire fighting techniques right not even close to the same world.
To continue off topic here,
We have Mexican crews helping out in North / West Ont now. If things heat up more, maybe the Ausies will help as well.
That means nothing.... could be one. Empty words by all politicians. I'd say its a question of man power send in the military. Thing is I don't know the logistics of deploying such actions. That's why we put in charge those that know better and trust they are doing the best they can. However if it comforts you to live in "They are out to get you" mentality hey go for it. If you really want to make a change run for office and work from within.
Some interesting information. Can only gets stats back to 1980. But I know there is data going back over 100 years.
https://cwfis.cfs.nrcan.gc.ca/ha/nfdb
I follow that info. My brother (retired) was the Ontario Coordinator for MNR fires. This is the second or third time they pulled him back out of retirement to help. This time to direct the Mexican crews. My son did 6 years as crew leader on the Wawa crews.
Brother John was in Australia when they were burning up. Learned and fished some great Brook Trout waters between Sudbury and James Bay over the years. :)
Firefighters fight forest fires every single year but I guess that ended ?
We sent 100 from Ontario to help the fort McMurray fires in 2016. Bc sent 200 two years ago to Ontario in 2021. In 2019 little old Halifax had several crew's working on forest fires in Canada.
Point is if they have the resources and are not fully using them then they are not doing everything they can to stop them.

Could be empty words but as a mayor they shouldn't be . Since they weren't even asked shows the lack of concern. When they spoke out and said they would help they were told it wasn't necessary. Why isn't it necessary even if there was a team available to help.

I spent 11 years fighting forest fires and here are some facts:
To fight forest fires you must be trained and certified and pass a nationally certified fitness test. Structural fires and forest fires are very different and require separate skills. Foreign fire fighters must meet international standards and are provided with additional training and orientation upon arrival. National and international agreements are in place to share manpower and equipment. Ontario often sends personnel and equipment across Canada and to the USA. This spring crews went to Alberta.
There was a time when able-bodied men in Ontario could be conscripted into fighting fires but that is no longer the case.
It’s my understanding that Ontario has a shortfall of about 40 crews this year. Young people have other things to do I suppose, but I heard a story that some kids don’t want to do it because there’s no wifi in the woods.
As far as the city fire fighters wanting to help, Quebec didn’t have the resources to train and certify them due to sudden emergency. After this season ends, I can foresee a push to train interested people.
Who’s lighting the fires?
Thanks for your expertise.
When they mention they have able body's im sure they would be qualified. It wouldn't be the first time that Quebec sent a team to battle Forrest fires. Is that team on the ground? Or did foreign workers come before their own teams with experience?
This retired guy had a team together but is not needed he and they have the experience, are still able and don't even want the Frontline. But it would be boots on the ground. We took retired nurses back in an emergency. And now those fighting the fires are loosing thier own homes in these areas they wanted to help.

Each province has it’s own forest fire fighting resources which includes fire fighters, specialists, equipment, and logistical support. Each province can usually manage incidents themselves, but occasionally the number and complexity of incidents exhausts their ability to respond to and support new and large fires. As previously mentioned, each province has agreements in place to share resources. Typically they would have limited agreements with neighbouring provinces and states (called compacts) or they can submit requests to the Canadian Interagency Fire Center in Winnipeg who will do the “shopping” for them. Assistance could be in the form of fire fighters, air tankers and bird dogs, equipment such as pumps and hose, as well as logistical support. I was once sent to British Columbia as a helibase manager.
I see that, today, Quebec is receiving 140 fire fighters, 1 agency rep, and 7 technical specialists from South Korea… that has to be first.
For anyone that is interested, you can get more daily information about forest fires across Canada (including fire fighter movement) check out the “Daily Situation Report” at CIFFC.net. You can also find a map of active fires across Canada there. If you have any questions about what some of the information means, let me know and I’ll do my best to explain it.
Who said they wouldn't pass? They wanted to make sure that front had it's supplys .
He mentioned for everyone on the front has 1 to 3 helping that 1 on the front. .
We see the faith of the titan when they refuse to hire 55 year old white guys with military experience. But no they wanted a" young inspirational individual" as anyone can control it with ita 30 dollar game controller lol. Yep diversity wins again.
Maybe that old white would of had the experience to say this ship is not sound good luck .

It's a mix of natural and humans. In 2020 Alberta said 88% were started by humans.

Maybe an old video seen lots of older ones come back as New.
Either way wouldn't want to be near those waters . Does it only kill bass ? Or any fish but get them when the bass are spawning?
