Pack your shorts for the controlled hunt! Warm weather?

Looking like another warmer year for the controlled hunt, gotta bring some extra shorts and t shirts for the blind is what it's looking like. I thought we were suppoze to be getting blasted with cold early this year? Or is this the weird weather from the hurricane? But I would think it would be windy and rainy. Any insight?

I have pics of a hunt 10 years ago first week of November in 92B we had a foot of snow and miserable weather. :(

Can't control the weather. The rut is the rut and bucks will still make mistakes looking for love... :)

They can barely predict a day out recently ,never mind the months ahead lol.
However I'm still hopeful for a Jan first opener on the hard water.

I’m a bit of a weather buff which goes back to my forest fire fighting days. I was reading an article regarding the fall weather forecast and they looked back at previous La Niña events and strengths. Basically, the forecasters wanted to attempt to make an apple to apple comparison and they came up with the following prediction: warm and dry fall, then somewhere between November 15th to December 1st a sudden shift to cold/wintery weather will happen and the mild/above normal temperatures will come to an end.

I’ve seen this type of western weather pattern play out before, e.g. 2021 and 2022. This year our annual deer hunt will be from November 9-16 this year and I’m expecting pleasant weather during the first half of the week followed by a Colorado Low moving through on Wednesday or Thursday bringing snow, wind, and cold temps. We’ll see what happens!

What's the prediction for winter in northern Ontario?
Rivers have been extremely low in past 2 years.
It could seriously use lots of snow cover to refill

I think the consensus is colder on average. Snow amounts/depths will depend on the position of the jet stream. The La Niña event is not supposed to be particularly strong, so I expect periodic shots of mild/damp Pacific air every 2-3 weeks. Unlike last year, I’m not expecting a green Christmas this year.

Warm right now for sure but forecast for Shelburne/Orangeville area (WMU 81) of controlled looks like typical average first week of November fall weather. Neither warm nor cold per say:

The warm weather doesn't seem to impact the deer movement in 92B during the first controlled hunt.

However, it's a scramble getting the meat on ice because you can't let them hang for more than a day in these mild temps. I butcher my own and have found the meat is excellent when put in an ice bath for up to 7 days so it's a non-issue.

X2 on this! Last year wasn't that bad where we were, was cold enough at night and during the day for the week to hang them, I'm getting a little worried about it for this year though.

Perfect hunting weather would be a low of 2-3'C and 1cm of snow overnight and a high of 8-10'C with sun first morning then overcast mid-day...good luck and be safe for opener
This warmer weather has me paranoid the ticks will become active again....gonna spray my gear to play it safe

Enjoy the next week(or two)!
While it would be"nice"to have "real" deer hunting weather....nothing beats the first week of November, even if weather is not perfect!

Ya can confirm the ticks are active. I was out doing some last minute scouting in 60 and had lots of ticks crawling on me. Didn't spray my clothes down yet but I'm doing that today!

I can deal with warm weather during the deer season although not ideal. What I don't like is the 50km wind gusts they are predicting for the first couple days.
