Standard of living go up, hahahaha, compare the quality of food and health care for example, lot of garbage food south of the border, I may pay more taxes, but at least I don't need 3 jobs to pay for hospital bills. Well let me just say this - as far as unhealthy food is concerned- yes junk food is available but you don't have to eat it - good organic food is available- then we have the health care - all my medical bills are paid for by medicare and a supplemental insurance that I pay for - I'm retired and when I was working the company covered my medical bills - the big issue is that I don't have to wait months to get something taken care of - emergency care is available in hospitals or urgent care facilities- if I need a scan or mri I can get it in a week - many Canadians end up coming to the US for treatment because they can't get it up there -

Then you think that the US sticks its nose into other countries affairs - think about it - thank God that we got involved in both world wars or the outcome would have been a lot different - today we are involved in one way or another with wars in Ukraine, Israel and other Middle East countries- do you want Russia to start taking over other sovereign countries like Hitler did back in the 30s - do you want the only democratic country in the middle east to be destroyed - do you want the terrorist to take over Syria and other countries and butcher the people - you should thank the US from involvement in these countries

No thank you. Yes Canada isn’t perfect but it’s a special place to live. A big reason why it’s special is that we are separate. Although there are many similarities between us, there are also significant differences. IMO anyone who is envious of the USA respectfully has my blessing to move there.

I think many would like it.
He's only trying to save America as they know the empire is falling. It would benefit us to economically tackle China to keep the empire.
The paths already set tho. Now it's just a matter of time. Not if they will pass us but when?. You know what happens when you are the biggest economy in the world? Ask the usa or British lol. I am not envious of America but my affinity for Canada has reached a new low and I could very easily live in the U.S. or any other English-speaking country.

In 2015, Justin Trudeau expressed the view that Canada was a "postnational state" meaning national identity is no longer relevant and since then he has torn apart many of those things that made us distinctly Canadian.

In these current times of political conflict Canada needs a leader of men. A leader of men does not say 'maybe I will be the leader' a leader of of men is someone who has displayed a history of turning to face conflict, someone we already follow without being asked to do so.

Amen brother! I can't even put into words what it is to be canadian anymore.

I would still rather be living up here than in the US even with the way the country has gone and changed… If we all pull together and elect the right government and make them accountable for their actions we can change this country around. A leader with gonads who isn’t afraid to make changes the way this country has been run the past 10 years.

I would rather that then live where there’s mass shootings everyday, a President that thinks more about himself than the people, a convicted felon who cheated on his taxes trying to take money away from the people of NY State and they still elected him President. The next 4 years will be hell….

Why my interest in Canada? - I lived in Canada back in the early 60s - liked living there because I love to go fishing and Ontario has a lot of water - back then the typical Canadian was a outdoor type guy with much the same outlook as me - when I look at Canada today I don't even recognize it anymore - it's population has changed dramatically and is primarily liberal - we Americans don't want Canada to become part of the U.S. because most of the population is so liberal - it would be like adding a big blue state to our country - I was traveling to Ontario a lot before the pandemic hit - have't been there since - from what I read and hear Canada is in bad shape economically and this could be blamed on the progressive government that has been in power over the last 8 to 10 years - yes we have our problems down here but we have a new president who is going to take the bull by the horns and make this country great again - we're getting rid of all the progressive bums that were leading our country down the path of destruction -

One of the major lies that has been pushed on the populations of the world is the claim that diversity is a good thing - it is just the opposite - just look at countries that have let all kinds of cultures into their countries - all kinds of problems - in the meantime don't worry too much - we Americans still have our guns -

Absolutely right! There's a couple of other forums that seem to be able to handle political discussions and intercourse quite well. There's many people who used to be here that I've had excellent communication and discourse with,surprisingly. I have no idea what their moderators are doing differently,but,it seems to working for them.

Not sure which post seems to be grinding your gears or if both of them do FFF. The one is tongue in cheek or humor and is stating that I respect a forum member. The other is showing what I believe is a big problem in our court system or being able to avoid being brought to justice at all.

I believe you may have been observing the movement of Liberal city folk out to to suburban and rural areas which had been previously owned by small farmers who were also hunters. The small farms in Ontario seem to have been reduced in numbers since the government reduced the farm grants and subsidies about 20 years ago, but that seems to be reversing in more recent times and I expect farm subsides to grow as the price of food increases. Unfortunately the damage has been done, where farms once were now many small rural subdivisions exist on prime tillable land, moving farms further North has reduced financial benefits due to the shorter growing season.

I was reading something today that said Canadians would rather be the 28th to eroupe. Lol. That's funny.

Nothing but vast amounts of ocean between our new besties, that is actively encouraging Chinese manufacturers to biuld up its economy from the sanctions they put that destroyed them in the first place.

Even carney in his first speech mentioned something similar lol.

I get a kick out of the way they frame their titles. "Almost half the polls say they would vote...." rather than state the obvious. They'd never say "Over half decline to join the European Union". Very soon,Canadians will elect a new government and if the propaganda media machine is to be believed, Mark Carney and the Liberals will have a majority mandate. We must be aware that Carney and Trump are cut from the same cloth. With them,it's all about the money.
