I've been sorting thru gear and doing a little scouting for sheds (none) and for turkey sign (some). I usually don't see much until the first week of April or so. Anyhow, last year was the best spring in the 25 years I've been hunting turkeys and I'm hoping this year will be decent too. Good luck to all. This was my 2024 spring season....

i'm definitely looking forward to it, but no high hopes. Used to seen around 10 birds a day, with maybe 3 shooters and get my 2 birds a season. Been getting worse every year, last year I saw 1 hen and the 1 Tom I shot for the whole season. Farmer says same thing, not seeing birds like he used too.
I'm itching to get out also seen so many birds in the areas I hunt can't wait
You know I’m inching to get out when I’m having turkey hunting dreams at night. Can’t wait. I’m missing the opener and probably won’t get out until the Sunday or Monday because my Daughter is having her confirmation. I’m happy for her but I really hate missing the opener. lol
I can't wait. Bought my tag at the sportsman show and have been keeping an eye on the flock of birds on the farm i hunt. Its amazing how every spring they are in the exact same spot with a large amount of birds. But on opening day. The numbers seem to dwindle down but come out in the same spot for me.
Starting to get excited. I watched 2 tom's strut across the field Monday with 12 hen's following.
saw a nice Tom this morning in town along the side of the road on way to take dog for annual shots
I am still ice fishing and snowmobiling the first week and a half of April - after that i will switch gears.

Nice shot. That was a great looking bird and came in nicely for you and presented itself perfectly for that taking.
