Hello Snow Goose,
I am also waiting for my first issue.
However the first issue is due sometime this fall so hopefully we will see it later this month.
I talked to the owner/publisher during the summer regarding a suggestion that had been previously made to me within this waterfowl forum. He was rather receptive to that suggestion and requested some additional information regarding that particular suggestion.
He also welcomed any other ideas for the magazine.
He appeared dedicated to producing a quality magazine.

nope still waiting!! beginning to think it isn't going to arrive.
thanks
Got mine friday
Still waiting for my issue. I've been talking to the editor Cory and he said that there was a delay, but that was about two week ago. It was supposed to be out September. I hope he manages to sort it out. It would be nice to have a Canadian magazine.
Mattones. Did you talk to the editor at all. I've contacted him a few times and there was a delay with all the new addresses for subscribers but I still haven't got mine.
Tried to contact the magazine source re duck hunting articles and never heard back. Hope that it was just a glitch on the reply.
Any more news on this magazine??? At 4 issues per year and the last one coming in October of last year we should have had something by now. Im not so sure this magazine will make it to the end of my 2 year subscription. Also they had a big contest on and never heard anything about a winner. Anyone know more???
I actually had my story in the mag and I haven't heard anything. I am actually sending an email to the editor, but I'm not holding out much hope. I think its done. To bad though.
Wonder how that will work when so many people already paid $40 for a 2 year subscription.
I could be wrong but im pretty sure its from the same folks at TFB!!!
It will work, because its called insolvency. Lol It is definately connected to Fall Brawl TV. It would be to bad if it doesn't work because its a great idea and the first issue was pretty well put together. The fact remains though that there is very limited to 0 communication to subscribers and the web site page has never been updated from it's inception. I have emailed and will post the just of the response I get, if any.
Did people who subscribed get their money back ? I was planning on signing up but never got around to it guess iam glad I didn't
I paid for a 1 yr subscription. No big deal and I'm not holding my breath on getting money back lol. Just unfortunate. What's 20 bucks in the grand scheme of things and an opportunity in assisting a company in producing a Canadian magazine.
I got a copy from a buddy who had a few laying around, was a great read, wanted to subscribe but had heard nothing but bad reviews of mags not arriving, and no communication. If things improve I'd gladly subscribe.
I wanted to subscribe but after the bad reviews i didn't. I know $40 is only $40 bucks but when a lot of people spend $40 bucks its a load of money these people are making with know return. send me money and i will promise the best magazine ever and then say sorry it didn't work. Im just bored sorry for the rant LOL
I agree with most that yes we have all spent $20 or $40 in worst ways, but if everyone that claims their gunna make a magazine and gets many people to prepay things could go south quick. If you do a quick figure at $40x 1000 people that's $40,000 that could get a few crooked people thinking of a get rich quick scheme. I hope the magazine keeps up but not holding my breath. Yes the money would have been better off sent to DU or delta but hindsight is always 20/20
[QUOTEwhy not just send your money to delta or some other charity. at least you will be able to delude yourself into thinking that your money is being spent on something productive][/QUOTE]
the local Delta Waterfowl Chapter has put over 80 kids through their hunting course. no delusion here.
To all those wondering about The Canadian Waterfowler magazines demise. I received an email from the editor today and it is definately a go and the contest winner will be announced then as well. Delayed the 2nd issue to coincide with the FB tv show. So good news!
That's great news. Now everyone can get a good night's sleep.
Oh ya, great news....
This my friends is what happens when people get to many hands in the pot.... So will the next issue be delayed by the spring snow hunt, then fishing this summer, then TFB yet again?
Glad i saved my money, I feel that in my generation I have witnessed the majority of quality "outsoors" publications take a backseat to the adds and promotions that litter the pages. I realize that this is what pays the bills for the publication but in this case it sounds like you all funded a TV show...
I also received a phone call today from the editor and he confirmed the same thing as stated above.
I'm going to continue to give the magazine a chance because I know what it is like to take your own personal money and sink it into something that you love with little to no profit.
That being said I do agree with some of you that they have some work to do in regards to fine tuning their product and being a little more consumer friendly when it comes to promoting their brand.
It will be interestesting to see what transpires in the next 7 issues that were promised to us subcribers, but they have my support...at least for now.
Let's give them a chance, what do you guys think?
Cheers,
Marc
Finally a person with a positive attitude! I agree Marc👍The initial exchange for this forum was just to confirm wether or not the magazine would continue and if anyone had the info and it turned into a whole other thing. If we are all truly waterfowlers we will appreciate any magazine promoting Canadian waterfowling. Most of, if not all of us wether we spent the 20 or 40 dollars or didn't already support waterfowling conservation through direct donations, club memberships, the ammo we buy and even our waterfowl stamps. That's the last I'll say about this, unless I get different info. Stay positive!
Thanks RandyC,
As bird hunters, we all support all sorts of clubs, conservation causes and youth hunt initiatives...etc, and in my opinion we should. We all love bird hunting and as Canadians we have a very small say in he marrketplace compared to our neighbors in the States.
The magazine that is stated in this thread is another example of something that a particular individual and/or group has started because they love the same passion that we do. It promotes Canadan content and Canadian companies with stories from Canadains.
I think that we should just be happy that this product is taking off and we should at least try to support it.
With less than 30 posts on this particular thread (half of them negative) it shows that at least some people were interested in the magazine's exsistence. Look a little deeper into the weeds and the stats will show that there were over 1,200 views on this thread, which means that alot of people are sitting on the fence, waiting for it to take off before they jump on board.
I'm not sure how many people subscribed to it, and how many did not. But in my own personal opinion, why not part with your $40 and see where it goes. Worst case scenerio...you'll have something to read on the toilet.
Cheers,
Marc
I would argue that rather than doing this for the love of waterfowling their interest rest with making money. There is certainly nothing wrong with that, but to insinuate that spending 20-40 dollars is somehow good for Canadian waterfowling is a stretch. If people want to risk their cash for what most likely will be a short lived, sub-standard product then so be it, I'm not interested nor do I think many others will be either.
I've been hoping Wild TV would carry "The Grind Waterfowl TV" but unfortunately they are only on the Pursuit Network. Good news though you can watch them on YouTube. Probably the most informative waterfowl show I have seen plus their production is pretty amazing.

Delta chapters raise money that stays in Canada to support Delta's work on hunter advocacy, breeding research and habitat conservation, and our chapters get to retain 25% of the funds raised to re-invest locally in youth hunts, the installation of nesting structures, habitat projects, etc.
