This my fourth winter for no license and loven every minute of it.
I have been hopeing for the same thing the last 4 years but it aint gonna happen.
maybe we should lobby our good conservative members for the idea.

I wouldn't hold my breath. I am 63 and when I applied for my new Outdoors Card, the prompt would not let me select a 3 year fishing licence, only 1 year so next Dec31st I will have to purchase another 1 year licence.....WTF...................Boog
Alot old people on here.:silly:
I resemble that remark.
Old, Old what do you mean old ya young whipper, I will have you know that
oh oh cant seem to remember what I was going to shout at you about
Maybe I will remember later.

Anything over 46 is old, sems to me my wife must be included in that, maybe I can trade her in for a newer younger model. ;)
Well boys, this is my first season without a licence and I am not old. Most of you guys are just young. I wonder how many on here are seniors?
I'm into it now for 7 years , not afraid to admit it !:):thumbup:Quote:

Three years for me, never thought I would make it this far. :scream::scream::scream:
I agree that the small game licence fee should be waived.
Things to look forward to GW..
Phase 1 (55): get the Grey discount from Auto insurance.
Phase 2 (60): get Early CPP...
Phase 3: (65): Free Fishing
Boxing Day, I'll be licence free!! Doesn't apply in Quebec though.:(
even a person with a disability has to buy a small game lic. no brake for hunters no matter of age
If you want something for "free" at a certain age you need to change the system to something like a pension fund. Pay a little extra every year until you have enough to withdraw from the fund later. So the time to change the system is when your 20 not 65. For me the system is fine as it is.
Oh..and don't forget the neat things you can wear once your past 65...no one gives you a second look... :)

HAHAHA MikePAl
Lol Mike :)
I'd say " slim & none" Foxx. I'm 72 now and still a-waitin !
Welcome to the club, Foxx! I'll be 72 this year. I very much doubt that you'll ever see free hunting for seniors.
I'd like to see free PAL renewal!
I did suggest to her that since she is getting old and she has gone back to University maybe she would like to ask one of her younger single female classmates to board at our house. Yeah she didn't think it was funny, go figure I don't think the old Bat has a since of humor.:silly:
Woops I didn't mean "Bat" I meant love of my life. :)
Good grief I knew I was getting old but you old geezers are getting really ,really old :D.Isn't it time for you to give us your firearms and fishing rods . ? I don't think they allow them on the geriatric ward . LOL:D
TD
Good idea from mikepal! maybe some younger ones could use this system.:scream:

Nice to see the "older guys" still active in this sport! Gives me hope. I am still 18 away from 65 (18 months that is :scream: ). I used to dread the fading of my youth and the approach of old age, but I have never been happier and I feel the best is yet to come.
im a young whipper im 23 but ill be 24 this March and reading all your stuff just made my day , you guys are so funny and thank you to all of you guys for all the great information that you all have posted in other threads.
The biggest change I find, outside of a failing memory, I get out of the shower after hockey and come home and lay down for a couple of hours. My ritual for years and years was to drink beer for a couple of hours. The sacrifices I make, lol.
I haven't really fished much for several years but I get a combo license every renewal anyway. I renewed for 3 years in Dec. not realizing the fishing license was free for geezers at 65. I turned 63 in Jan. so I guess I've already paid for 2016 when I'll be a geezer! I wonder if I can get a rebate, lol.
63, you may not be a senior, but you are geezer Canthitathing. Lol
So were giving all the old people a break on their fishing license? Since most of you old guy's are retired or semi retired shouldn't we actually charge you more? I mean you have more time to hunt and fish which means more game. So maybe just maybe we should actually charge a premium for you license. I don't know something like 2% surcharge for each year over 59. :shades::silly:
Well, I'm glad you fogies "figgered out how to use them computers". No hunting conversations would be the quite same without the input of the older guys. Reminds me that I always have more to learn, no matter how much I think I already know.
When I get to 65 I will be buying the small game one year at a time. Not going to get any extra cash out me if I decide to take a Dirt Nap .
