ROFLMBO
My little buggar has taken to bring in frozen shti to chew on at his leisure. I can tolerate a lot but ................:whacked:
Most dog eat shti - fact of life. :)
Guess that might slow down getting kisses from them... I've never had a dog that ate crap... That I know of!... Lol
Their called poopsicles.
deb
Goin to the dog park must be like a smorgasborg... All you can eat buffet!!.. Lol
Funny thing. Never seen a dog eating poop at a dog park. I guess they like their own or a family member's - other DOG's in the family.:)
Good one.
I'm happy to say my last two dogs did NOT eat poop . Well, my last girl did go through a spell of eating rabbit pellets/poop but never her own, or other dog crap.
I am wondering if there s a reason a dog eats s-it.... How would you stop it?...I mean you would have too!... Can't be ok to accept it.... Or good for it?
Some dogs do it and some dogs don't. My own personal, unscientific theory is that curious dogs, or dogs who are trying to learn something, will often nibble at it. But I don't really have an explanation for the ones that just eat it outright. The only one that makes sense to me is that it's become genetically ingrained from when they ate garbage/human feces in the middle ages. My current dog eats it on rare occasion - especially if it's from a wild animal. I convince myself that he's taking one for the team in trying to learn as much as possible for hunting purposes. Otherwise, he finds sticks particularly palatable. :rolleye:
Our mutly did that, too. It would just gross us out. Our vet told us that "Corpophagia" is inate, they believe, among most breeds, especially northern breeds,as a method of covering their spoor from predators when they ran wild. It sounds like a reasonable theory,to me. Now,I don't want to really gross you all out, but,it happens more than you would think,in humans, also.
ive found they are all poop eaters at some time or another, bleck :P
lol great pics, maybe left to her own devices she would, but I've yet to witness Maddy scarfing down her land mines.
I found the reason and its no mystery. My dog would do it when he was eating commercial dog food. You know the kind most people feed with grains, corn, beet pulp.Dogs are not able to fully digest these grains as their systems are set up to digest meat.So a dog will smell the undigested commercial food in the stool and decide to eat them again.
Once my dog was on the "raw food" he never again did this.Other benefits are fresher breath, cleanner teeth, better coat.
The part that gets me is when they use the cat's litter box like a buffet! "whew"
Yes. We have the litter box in a room with a hole in the door , so only the cat can enter. While I'm cleaning the box, the 3 dogs are waiting at the door hoping for a hand out. It isn't going to happen.:)
I have yet to see a dog [any breed ] that does not love "rabbit raisins ' when they find them .:goodstuff:
