So I lost the antenna on my transmitter this weekend. The collar clinic sells replacements but they have a longer one available too. Surely a longer one would improve the signal right? Anybody here know much about radio signals and stuff to comment? They are the same price as the short factory one.

If they are like Garmin who sells longer antennas for increased range I would say a longer antenna for a Dogtra for the same money as the stock one is a good idea. Extra range and more length are good things to have.
The longer one will probably give you better range but have you been in a position where you need the extra range? A longer antenna gets hung up on stuff more than a shorter one. I found that out when I replaced my antenna on my TT pro 500.

No, because the antenna fits into a hole. The loctite just keeps the threads from coming loose.
I wouldn't put anything on an antenna that wasn't a conductive material.
If you've ever seen how an antenna has a female and male end, that's the conductive part. The threads that hold the antenna on aren't. It's like a coax cable.
I don't own one of these units but if I remember correctly my TT pro 500 doesn't have a Male/female end like a coaxial type antenna. The end of the antenna on my pro 500 just looks like a threaded bolt and I wouldn't be to keen on putting anything on it.
It looks like it doesn't have any connectors just a straight threaded socket.
Ask the collar clinic when purchasing they should know if loctite is safe.Maybe they have a few tricks to keep it tight.
