Thanks Jakezilla. I'm pulling for the longest long shot running - Progidy's Bonfire/Ray Warren. It's one of only 2 setters running and it's a female - talk about "underdog"!
Wouldn't be surprised if I knew some of the breeding behind this Bonfire beatch, such as Hytest Sky Hawk - the 1st setter to win the Quail Championship Invitational in 30 years or so. We were going to breed to him some years ago but it never did happen. Now, I don't know that PB is out of Sky Hawk so don't quote me. Just lookin' at her gives me that impression.
Then I'll have to go with "Shadow Oaks Bo " Robin Gates. :) 2 years in a row would be a long shot though.

I assume dogs are allowed to wear Garmin tracking collars ?
Yes , but the Judge carries your transmitter. You can't track where your dog is. :) Asking for the transmitter removes you from that brace. It 's a great thing as there is no need for a dog to be lost anymore . Unfortunately they can still get hit by a car.

According http://thefieldtrialer.com/forum/ it has been 86 years there was a 2X setter champion. Whether it was a back to back championship I don't know, but that is a long time.

Well if a Setter is going to win it will have to be up to Bo as Prodigy's Bonfire the only other setter has been withdrawn.
That's too bad. The weather has gone from 21degrees to 68 since Day1 . Makes a difference on when you were drawn to run for sure. Birds hunker down in the cold , snowy weather and scenting is more difficult.

( Quester gave him good competition. - had 6 finds, 1 STF , and a UP- From 2 on the ground he was very strong to the end of the 3 hour brace.)

Very interesting to see how little difference in appearance of field setters over the last 86 years.
( Feagan's Mohawk Pal ( setter) 1926,28,30... last twice in a row winning setter
Look at Bo's Chest....he has no "Tuck" (that's probably because he's 8) but look at the size of his chest cavity...that boy can move some air.....and that is of major importance in this type of competition.......for all the confirmation freaks (like me).....you want a Dog to have run and stamina/endurance?....it needs to move air in and out of those Lungs....the more the better......the chest needs to reach at the elbows at the least(see pic Sharon posted)......Beautiful specimen he is.
Perhaps you have had too much coffee....I was merely pointing out one of his features to those that may not know why a Dog like him "may" have an edge......had nothing to do with the comparison of the 2 pics you posted.....sorry if you're reading something else into my post.....I will crawl back into the Timmies I just crawled out of:pQuote:
