Where can I get maps for the Marlborough Forest west of Ottawa.

I've asked the City of Ottawa for a complete listing of all the parcels and did not get a response. Maybe my message was sent to the wrong person, but I've also searched the City of Ottawa website extensively without any luck. It seems to be a relatively closely guarded secret. Maybe I would have better luck if I went to City hall in person to check the archives.
Just so you are aware, while it may appear to be a continuous tract of public forest based on satellite images, there are actually a large number of privately owned parcels that are mixed in with the public parcels. On the ground, it can be very difficult to determine which are private. Some areas are marked as private when they actually are not private, and others are not marked as private when they seem to be based on the available information. And by "available information", I mean the map available on the "Eastern Ontario Model Forest" site. They have a map which you can buy and which indicates public land in Eastern Ontario, including rough boundaries of the Marlborough Forest.
Try this city of Ottawa interactive map. Just add layers as required to identify boundaries, roads etc.

The best I could find real quick is an older map (1997) at the end of the document that you can cross reference with the zoning link above. I am sure some land may have been added since then.

^ I've been using this lately, but I couldn't find a layer which indicates which parcels are part of the Marlborough forest. There is a layer that indicates the lots and concessions, but you still need to know which lots/concessions are public land and which are private. When you combine the EOMF map with the City of Ottawa maping software (with the lot and concession layer) you can get a pretty good idea of where you can go freely. Then you get on the ground and find "private property" signs in places that they shouldn't be. On top of that, there appears to be leases on some of the public land. This is why I've tried to get the lots and concessions straight from the horse's mouth - without success so far.
This is all I can find too, here is a trail, there is a trail, but no actual borders for anything.
I tried the crown land use atlas but since it is municipally owned it is not crown so that does not work.
It does look like all the lands are contained within the "City of Ottawa" though and not in Lanark County or rather Montague township
If you go to maps and publication, then maps, the hard copy version is what I mentioned in the earlier posts. This map shows the Marlborough forest. It looks like this map is out of stock though.
The two links that Impact posted in post #6 will allow you to scout from your computer. The "map" at the end of the document in the second link shows the public parcels (as of 1997) with lots and concession numbers. You will be able to use these with the City of Ottawa satellite images and the correct map layer in the first link to find the interesting public parcels and obtain GPS coordinates for the limits of these parcels. You can then enter these coordinates into your GPS and explore. As I mentioned though, once on the ground, you will see that it appears that some of the landowners or maybe some "hunt camps" that use the forest are a little liberal with their use of "private property" signs.
The virtual "map" does not have any layers for anything west of Richmond that I see. Ottawa is horrible for this, just like the discharge of firearms info, they show that you can actually shoot in the suburbs because the maps are so out dated.
Here it is, step by step.
Click on Link #1 in post #6. Zoom in to the general area of the Marlborough forest. Now click on Aerial maps - this will give you satellite images. Then click on More Layers, Property parcels, and make sure you enter this menu item and click Township Lot Lables. You will see the property lines along with all the lots and concession numbers. With the info in link #2 in post#6, you will have a good idea of the public parcels by referring to the indicated lot and concession numbers in the map at the end of the document. The only thing missing from this is an updated listing of the public parcels from the City of Ottawa and a listing of which of these are under lease to someone. This last bit if information is what I would like to get, but I have not been successful.
With regards to your comment about "west of Richmond", don't forget that this is a City of Ottawa site, so coverage ends once outside of the City of Ottawa. That is irrelelvent though if you are looking for information on the Marlborough forest.
Richmond is still well within the city limits, I guess I would say south west of Richmond.
I can see the concession lines, that is fine, the problem is that there is nothing accurate, as stated here by you as well.
I guess I need to drive around there and take a look to actually get an idea of what is considered the property that is public compared to what was listed in 1997.
I thought that you were pointing to this map to show a layer that contained the city of Ottawa public forests, which it does not.
Thanks for the info, I am trying to figure out what areas I should look for houses about 30min from Ottawa and in WMU 64A. I will not be moving east or north, I would go west or south west of the city.
It would be good to know if the properties are next to the public land or not, my dad is near public land where he is and it can complicate things with trespassing.
If greatwhite can't find his map - I have a paper map of the Marlborough Forest and can get a copy for you. PM me your mailing address if you're interested.
I don't have the specific map just of Marlborough, but I have one called "Easter Ontario Outdoor Recreation & Resources Map".
PM sent.
Hi Fox. Go thru all the maps located at this link, it describes many areas that are leased and also small lots that are not included on larger maps. If anything a good read. http://ottawa.ca/en/residents/laws-l...aw-no-2002-344

The Lands Division of the MNR coordinates the review and comment on municipal
planning documents that may impact upon the Agreement Forest. Official plans, zoning
bylaws, severance and subdivision applications, and requests for amendments all receive
input from the MNR before they are adopted. In this way natural resource concerns and

Marlborough Forest are developments in and adjacent to the wetlands that extend across
the forest acquisition boundaries as defined in the Official Plan for RMOC.

Thanks, greatwhite sent me a scanned copy of the big map, it shows a lot of other public areas outside of the Ottawa boundaries as well, which is nice.
The next thing to do it investigate it.
Thanks everyone for the help
Hey Fox, I don't if your looking for that but if you go on the SouthNationConservation website, you click on Map and then you can.see all the conservation area that you can hunt on...
Hope it helps
Thanks, I am looking at places to buy a house :) and I do not necessarily want to back on to the Marlborough, but I would not mind being close to it. I have family in Northern Ontario and Southern Ontario so I am trying to keep my sights set on West of Ottawa, just outside the city limits.
You cannot hunt in all the conservation areas managed by the regional conservation authorities. I've asked the RVCA directly about a parcel I was interested in hunting, and they told me it was not allowed. They were supposed to have developped a permitting system to allow hunting in their conservation areas, but the last time I asked them, they said they would put my name on the list and contact me to let me know. That was well over a year ago (maybe two) and I have not heard anything.
Agreed RF2, not meant as blanket statement.
