The only thing that will stop this guy from doing it again is Jail Time. How can you take away this guys fishing license for 5 years when he doesn't even have one and this is the second time he's been charged for fishing without a license. Jail Time baby...

I like the fact that the guy that lent G his license is also looking at charges. I think as a minimum he should lose his for 5 years as well.

This guy basically got a slap on the wrist. The only way to stop habitual poaching is to hit these guys in the pocket book and jail time. When an individual blatantly knows he is breaking the law he should be banned from fishing for life. Just my 2 cents worth.
I agree with the lifetime ban plus jail time . As others had stated though, he didn't even have a licence to begin with so he will probably be out again this year.Quote:

Poaching can cause the depletion of the stock. On the gander there are many tributaries. With a total salmon population entering each year of about 35000 salmon. On some of the smaller tributaries you only get about 400 salmon returning each year. If some poacher takes 250 salmon over the season and another guy gets 50. You may be in jeopardy of ruining the stock on that tributary for generations. Should have lost his boat and gear as well.
So how about this. Get caught poaching. 2-3 demerit points off your driving record. This would sure get my attention in a hurry!
