This is one of the weirdest racks I've ever seen.
What do you think is going on with this deer?

One cool rack. Not sure what would cause that.
LSD? ;)
wow thats nasty lookin......be interesting to see what it would do witha few more yrs of growth.
Its a thing of beauty.
Id guess a head injury at one time. Could be plied with hormones too I suppose.
Be tough fighting off the big guy with that Rack
Happens the odd time. Typically due to an injury to the base of the antler where it meets the skull in the early stages of growth.
Sure is unusual and kind of neat to see though.
Won't be hard to spot him come hunting season, no "is that the buck from the camera" guessing games :)
It would make for an unusual mount

Here is one, not quite like yours though
Crossed with a goat at one time or another in the gene pool...
let him grow and see what happens.....could get pretty knarly in another year or two
LOL. Holly crap he's gonna have a hard time picking up the lady's with that due....
it's the comb-over, for deer! He's trying it out....
That's pretty cool looking for sure. Here's another I've been seeing this year.Attachment 27014
looks like snopp dogg
Neat rack
Could have had something stuck on it when the antlers were small that forced them to grow oddly too, chunk of fencing or something. Same as you can "train" cattle horns
Very unusual.
Im with "twostroke" on this one be very interesting to see what he developes into in the next couple years
Would it always be like that every year or would it be possible that it grows fine next time?
Depends I guess on what caused it to be like that in the first place. If the injury healed over the winter, might have a regular rack this year. I have seen pictures of deer with really weird racks and when they were shot in the fall, have had wicked abscesses under the base that almost reached the brain, where the infection would have killed them.
Definitely an injury - probably ran into a car or something
wow now thats a mess
