Troubles with Trail Cam's - HELP!!

Boys,
I need some help here!!
Purchased a Moultrie M-880 last year, early summer - it's failed (seemingly a common issue based off of the North American Hunting Forums) - $200 dollars gone and now speaking with Moultrie, they really don't want to help me at all.
Purchased a CuddyBack this weekend based off of good forum review and tested it throughly before putting it out in the bush. Bear pile was hit, with excitement I grab the card and I only find pictures with my ugly head on it.

Im at a lost, conditions are ideal, the shot is well within the specs of motion trigger... It seems I just can't win. Im a 30 year old tech-guy, these cameras aren't rocket science to set up and I don't think 'IM' the issue.

I plead with my fellow hunters, advice on a solid trail camera would be greatly appreciated!!

I bought a wild game innovations cam from canadian tire. It cost about 150 I think. It seems to work ok. Sometimes Ill check it and it has turned off. It sometimes does that. I really wish they made a cam without all these stupid settings and options. I want one option, on or off. Lol.

I see a lot of guys posting pics here so I'm sure someone will chime in.

i also had a wildgame innovations and it worked great... till a bear got his paws on it...

now im running a moultrie i bought at tsc for $60... no probs with it so far...

make sure the angle of the sensor is set right, so that its angled at the bear and not your head, unless you got it sitting on the ground... bears might be walking under the sensor...

I had issues with my first wild game Innovations cam. I sent them an email and I shipped it back at my expense. But they did ship me a new one.

Yeah I found its hard to angle it properly. It looks like it could be set up perfectly but when I get the pictures, they are nowhere near where I thought it would be pointed.

alway face your camera north,,,,,,,,,,wont be affected by sun and bogus pics

check your firm ware on your cudde back. great camera in my books. also try spypoint, try to format your sim card in that camera

Tested it thoroughly? Like set it up and simulate an animal entering and leaving the range(s) to see if it gets picked up? Try to duplicate the bear hitting the bait.

I have a Spypoint and while it is nowhere near what I'd like in a camera, it does what is advertised.

Not sure why your having problems with customer service at Moultrie.... I stuck the SD card in backwards once and killed mine. So I wrote a letter, explained what I did and put it in a box and asked if they could fix it. They sent me a new one, no charge. I've heard the same thing from many others.....excellent service from them.

I have been using their cameras for years in all kinds of conditions and they work great. Never a problem.

All my cameras are Moultrie's and have great results. Have tried Bushnell, Wildgame Innovations and now just use the Moultie's.

Pol-Dawg those 880s have a reset button in the battery compartment, plus there is a hard reset sequence to purge the memory. Also, for whatever reason they seem to prefer class 4 Sandisk sd cards. They don't all like class 10 cards. All my cards I format on the pc first and then format them again in the camera to start the season. Might be worth a try.

Have tried alot of different cameras and wild game are by far the worst, terrible battery life and cheap, had decent luck with moultrie and bushnell but my favorites have been my 2 coverts they have awsome battery life work well when the weather gets cold.

Got a pair of Moultrie's a few years back at B.P. I think they were $119 for the 2 pack, only complaint I have is battery life, they take 6 D cells about every 2 weeks in the cold weather

I think bushnell and spypoint make the best cameras for the money. I have three bushnell trophy cams.
