I am not outdoors person by any means but over the past year, I have seen several animals like this. I was wondering if it could be a weasel or something
Fishers for sure, but I've never seen one with that light coloration. Neat one.
Cheers
Yup Fishers....lots of them around here. I have one that lives just down the lane way and catch sight of him crossing all the time. They are a lot bigger than most guys realize.
The coloring on the second one is neat. I have only seen small patches on them before. And thats usually on the face.
First one appears to be a Fisher. Second one appears to be an opossum because the tail is a little rat like and the head is smaller.
Opossum is the only marsupial in North America. Freaky little Bastards. They hiss. And play dead if you get real close.
i was gonna say badger on the second pic... guess not
I think it's the same fisher, just the sunlight is different in 2nd. pic.
Here's a clear pic of a Fisher with the same colouring...common...

I know a guy with a trap line at the cottage and his # 1 target is fishers, seems he has a regular catch of them every year. They are what he counts on. See many on the bear bait cam. Fenelon Falls area.
