my female beagle has a large goose egge under her eye .it is the size of a golf ball .I put some ice on it last night ,and can not see anything that is wrong with her .it is realy weird .just like a lump there is not brusing in her eye or ear thy both look okay .not sure what is going on Dutch
I think a trip to the vet is in order.

It could be an abscess from a tooth do like the olden days and Lance it.. I'm not a veterinarian though so take my advice fwiw.
just got back from the vet .she has a tummer in her tear ducts ,does not look good thy found more lumps in her neck ,not a good turn out my kids are going to freak out when thy hear what is coming Dutch

the vet said thy could operate and remove all the lumps but thy would for sure come back .a choice had to be made with the vet and my wife all involved .just got to break it to my teen aged girls .we do have two beagles and this one is the mother of my star rabbit runner .she has been a great dog and I can be happy that we had a good 10 years with her and that her daughter is still only 3 years old and hopefully be able to hunt for many more years .she will be missed a lot by are family Dutch

thanks guys and gals it means a lot .we have a long night ahead and then off to the vet in the morning .the vet gave me some heavy duty pain meds for her to keep her calm and comfy thru the night.the blessing in all this is that she left me a fine pup that just loves to hunt ,Dutch

My previous beagle developed a rapid tumor inside her nose and the prognosis was much like your dog's. In a few short weeks she went from happy-go-lucky family pet and a rabbit's worst nightmare to unable to smell and difficulty breathing. The decision was easy to make but hard to take. Darn, why do we love those stubborn little hounds so much?!

So sorry Dutch. I had to put my beagle down when he was only 5 years old due to an untreatable condition. Medication worked for a while but then it couldn't control the pain. I firmly believe that when we cross the pearly gates ourselves that our four legged friends are waiting for us there with tails a waggin....

Really sorry to hear Dutch. I really hate news like that. Definately the most difficult part of owning a dog is letting them go. Hang in there.
Sorry to hear about your loss Dutch. Another forum member who is a good friend had to put down a champion pointer a few days ago. We all share the sadness when a loyal companion, family pet and hunting buddy gets taken away from us...
