I see two posters who "know some people, who....", yet I know firsthand that once the shooter has the farmer fill out the paperwork, ( no MNR visit is necessary, nor are County staff required to come out) that is a matter of verifying how many ears are in the bag, and a cheque req is authorized from Treasury, cheques go out on Wednesdays.
There are two programs out there involving compensation. One is a bounty on coyotes, the other is a compensation program for livestock lost to predation. Are you absolutely positive that you're not citing the latter? That process is indeed more involved, and does require proof of livestock being killed by coyote.
Not saying you're wrong, but somewhere, there is some misinformation going out....if you want verification of my bona fides then PM me.
