So i was talking to a guy at the deer camp. He broke his breach plug off trying to remove it. So he had a guy remove it as well as the bolster. The good news is Three days soaking in trani fluid he was able to remove them. The bad news he put the barrel in the vice in his shop and started to heat the breach. Well guess what it was loaded and it went off in his shop luckily no one was hurt. scared the crap out of the guy. Well let's hope they learnt there lesson. .
Some people just should not have a gun and I wonder how they passed the firearms test.
I think the problem was he gave the barrel to the guys wife and told her it was loaded. I guess she didn't relay the message. That's why I use a ball puller.
wow thats scary stuff..........first thing they teach you is to always assume the firearm is loaded......I would especially be cautious if someone just handed me a muzzleloader knowing that you can always have a load in it as long as no primer. Good thing no one was hurt, and I get it accidents happen, but man alot of them can easily be avoided.

As much as we like to side with Darwin from time to time - please practice safety all the time. New and young hunters all need to learn from the book, from a mentor, from one of the "old boys" so they don't have to learn the hard way.

You can tell about it...but at the end of the story I am still gonna be shaking my head glad that none of the people in your stories hunt with or near me.

Well if I come accross a bunch of yahoos poking their bon fire with gun barrells and driving around in a truck with a 12 ga hole blown thru the roof I will gladly pick up and leave, would rather make it home to my kids at night then shoot a moose that badly anyday.
