I just installed the Timney kit in my 870 super mag. Turkey/varmint gun. Nice , crisp, 3 lb. trigger pull. WOW! Great investment. Did my 20 ga. 870 deer gun as well. Has anyone else installed these kits in their firearms?

With the 700 recall maybe we should be buying Timney stock jim !!
Had them installed in two Ruger 77s made a world of difference both light and crisp vs heavy with creep. Bit of a hassle getting them at the time, had to pick up in the States as no one could ship to Canada. Would highly recommend.
I had no problem getting it shipped from the States. There is a Canadian dist. in SW Ontario. Can be found on Canadian Gun Nutz.
Haven't yet.......
Will be looking into a couple kits for some of my guns that can not be adjusted. Spent a couple hours on my model 70 featherweight the other day. Took it from 9 lbs down to 2.7 and cleaned up any burrs. What a difference.
I don't know about your Ruger, but the kit can be installed in a Remington 870, in 10 Min.
I put a Timney in a Ruger Mk77, Rem 700. Easy to install
Very good triggers. They both had Zero creep, kept mine about 2lbs. Some people felt it was too light for a hunting rifle, But I like light triggers.
I put the timney trigger group in my ruger 10/22 and i love it. No creep and 2.5lbs of nice crisp trigger break. Highly recomended
were did you order yours from for your 870 I want one as well for my new 870 .and how much do thy run ,Dutch
Why is it, or what is the cause, I guess, to do a trigger job? I have never known anyone, to fiddle with the trigger on their guns. Everyone I know, hunt with, shoot with, is using what came on the gun.
I pull, the gun goes bang, the animal goes flop, or the target gets hit.
I am not disagreeing with / knocking trigger jobs, I am asking why? as I don't understand the need, what does it do for you?
I guess the main question is how, how does it make your gun more accurate? I pattern my shots with various shot and chokes, and sigh in scopes, if im hitting targets, how does the trigger change make that better?Quote:
Whether you are a slug gun hunter, turkey fanatic or trap shooter the Timney 870 Trigger Fix will simply allow you to become more accurate with your pump shotgun. Timney Triggers is proud to offer a lifetime warranty on all of their products, and each trigger is proudly “Made in the USA”.
After you try an after market trigger or have a trigger job done, you then will know why people change their triggers
Trigger pull is one of the fundamentals of accuracy. Books could be written about it. Likely have been. The mechanics of the firearms trigger play a large part in that. Do a little research.
Pull some different triggers. I'll never forget the first "set" trigger I pulled ! lol
