Have a buddy who is just nuts about these beasts and is making me jealous cause I haven't had the time to go on a hunt with him. Here are some of his takes so for this year and not an easy hunt as there are not many around so lots of miles are put on the snow shoes. Enjoy!

The key to hunting Jacks is to only take what you need.
You got that right one or two is all you need population is way to low to hammer them.
Well done.
I don't see any Jacks where i hunt only cottontails . I even pass on the cottontail tails being careful not to wipe out the local population.

Decent in some areas not all areas.
NIce Jacks. Love jackrabbits. LOTS of meat. I don't have a problem with him taking more than one as long as they end up on the table.

I know the area I grew up in is littered with jacks, the farmer are getting fed up with them

6 Jack limit per day is too high for sure and although I love hunting them with a varmint rifle, I don't know if it is great for the population long term.
I myself set a limit of 2 to 4 total per season depending on the numbers that I am seeing. 3 Jacks is a lot of meat, a handful of good hunts and a box of ammo.
It should be 2 per person a day!
