We used to take 33 marrettes (the Orange wire connector) put a round of electrical tape, and a piece of 1/2 emt (conduit)... when your up on scissor lift, you can hit your partner in the head with ease... lol.. they fly well and far..
Blow guns are a prohibited weapon in Canada.
Don't ask me why. They are just on the list with hand grendes and switch blades.
If anyone knows why please enlighten the rest of us.
Blowguns are prohibited ?......unless I'm not looking in the right place, they are not listed in either of these links defining prohibited weapons in Canada.

Unfortunately he is right!
OK..found it listed there....learn something new today...
I see that it was added to the list in 1977...well after my misguided, but fun, use of them in my childhood :)
(it was a Liberal Government in 1977...figures)
Quote:
Former Prohibited Weapons Order, No. 6
- 12. The device commonly known as “Yaqua Blowgun”, being a tube or pipe designed for the purpose of shooting arrows or darts by the breath, and any similar device.

Speaking of kids. ...They sell blowguns( shooting everything from foam to steel tipped darts) in the toy section of lots of stores in the states.
You take a vacation and get the kid a "TOY", only to get arrested and charged by customs when you come home. Good thing the section say " Arrow or dart" I can just see some kid getting charged for shooting peas or spit balls out of bic pen tube.
Say 1977 was that not around the time of all those movies with spys and assasians using blowguns to kill people? I am surprised they did not ban spoons after the movie "Robin hood, prince of thieves". Someone made the threat to cut someone liver out with a spoon.
That is pretty cool.
Shame it's illegal! That would be fun.
Yes, they're prohibited. The reason? Well, they belong to a group of a whole bunch of things that are prohibited because someone got their knickers in a knot about sneaky silent and/or concealable weapons that might be used by imaginary ninjas. Basically, anything that's ever been used by a silent movie assassin is prohibited.
It's pretty silly, because many of those weapons can be made by anyone, and existing laws let you address that imaginary ninja, so prohibiting them serves little purpose.
Actually, according to the Montreal Gazette, the Justice Minister at the time said " this weapon has no specific sporting use, could inflict serious injury and could even be lethal"

Well, that's true of any of those imaginary ninja toys.
Should share the video with the CPC. See if we can get blow guns becoming unprohibited thrown into C-42.
