Happy Birthday To Me!

It's been awhile since I've had a chance to cruise the forum, and catch up on stories from friends and acquintances across this great province, but finally made it through all 8 pages of "new posts".

A few weeks ago, I turned the big 3-2, and although it wasn't spend as planned, it turned out pretty good!

I have been on the road and in the air steady since the start of the new year, and it shows no signs of slowing. I was working up north the week of the 23rd (birthday) and got home on the 22nd. The 23rd itself was suppose to be a quick trip to New Liskeard, then zip across to Kapuskasing and back down home for some family celebration fun, and then take to the air Sunday for Ottawa for the week.

Well I finished my job in New Liskeard and was headed to Kap, when my phone rings, it's my boss and he's asking if I can head to Ottawa early, as in, this afternoon. We hang up quickly and I'm on the phone with the travel agent changing flights, then make the call to the real boss. She isn't happy, but starts to pack my bags, I speed home, pick up my luggage, and rip up to the airport, and a few hours later touch down in Ottawa.

Head up to the hospital and start to put out the fires, as much as I can for the night, when I get back to the room and unpack, I remember my Birthday present from the boys and wife.

And boy was I surprised! I had asked quite awhile ago for this, and not only did she remember exactly what I wanted, but also the color pattern.

My new Q-AX in Mallard Green from MoltGear! looks great, and sounds even better!

Been practicing up a storm and anxious to try it out this fall!

Got home the following Friday, in time for our DUC's Volunteer Appreciation night, and then ripped down to Sault Ste. Marie for the week on Sunday, made it home this past Friday and am now home, hopefully for the week, and back out to Ottawa next Sunday for the week, and then back to the Sault.

While at the volunteer appreciation night, I saw something that caught my eye, and that I had checked out before but never pulled the trigger on. The Mud River Two Barrel Double Seat Cover, they run about $84 USD, and with the new vehicle on the way and it not being leather like our truck or my previous work vehicle, wanted something for the hair.

This was part of a package draw, that my friend won, along with a duck and goose call, leash, collar, etc. She hadn't even made it over to the table yet and I was already texting her that I would buy it off her. So for 60 bucks it was all mine!

Maddy seems to think I did alright!

Belated Happy Birthday Jason. Many many more. Remember the family is the first job! We all get caught up with work sometimes but remember you can't buy memories they have to be made. Maddy looks pretty cozy on the new cover.

Happy belated, Turkeyrookie, Same day as my nephew's. He just turned the big 0-1. Mine was two days before yours. I'm a few years ahead of you, but not as old as jim, yet.

Work to live, but don't live to work. Life is too short for that.

Looks like you were born a week before me. Same age too. Happy b-day, looks like some good presents. I got some new warm clothes and some coyote calls.

So much for slowing down, found out rather then coming home next Friday, I'm off to Quebec City for the weekend, yay!

Happy belated TR, 32 ya say. Sometime if'n we ever git ta sit around a fire out at West Larkin Lake I'll tell ya a few tales about when I was 32. Anyhow good ta see ya drop in now and again. Be sure and find family time.
