Wow...It took a minute to think of where I knew him from....didn't he used to sell his products in a booth at the Renfrew/Carp gun shows. I'm pretty sure I used to buy my dogs Blaze orange hunt collars from him.
Sad, 45 is way to young to die.
My Condolences to the family, if you recall Dan made a post awhile ago when he first found out he was diagnosed with cancer. He and I kept in touch off and on, and even after he shut down the business due to his health, he made 2 final "presents" for Maddy.
He was an extremely nice man, and I am glad I got to spend sometime afield with him and his dogs, a good one has been taken way to early!
Yes he did! great collars as well!

After purchasing my first hunting dog, Dan was one of the first people I met and help direct me to local training groups and public hunting areas. His ardent support of our regions dog sport associations was immeasurable and his presence in our hunting dog community will be a great loss.
A true sportsman, Dan has asked that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the South Nation Delta Waterfowl Chapter. A public wake and funeral will be held this Saturday at 10:30 at St. Sebastian church in Ottawa.
My condolences. Thanks for posting this.
So sad... Dan used to PM me here and there to see how my progress was coming with my spanner. I'm sure he will be greatly missed.
Sad to hear that. I too recall his post re his illness. 45 is far too young.
Well said Drew.
I knew that Dan could always be counted on attending and underwriting the gun dog items at our dinners but I never fully realized just what the South Nation Chapter meant to him. As a committee member I am truely humbled. The Hunting Community has lost a great one.
Dan was a super gentleman and a great ambassador of our beloved sport. He will be missed by many.
