.270 round for Moose and Deer?

I've scoured the internet and haven't found what I'm looking for. My 270 is mainly a deer gun, but also the one I take with me as a backup to my 300wm for moose hunts. Since I gotten into reloading, I'm trying to find what would work best with each of my guns. Since I don't want to sight in every time I switch the ammo, I'm looking for a load that would work for both deer and moose. Right now I have 130grain Hornady SST that work well, I'm just a little concerned about letting it go at a moose. Thoughts or suggestions on a weight that would work for both of these animals?

140 grain accubond, works well on deer and moose. Shot my first bull with this load at 270 yards, and took many a deer with it.

This would work pretty well. I use a 150 grain partition as a do all round - moose, bear, deer.

x2 Partition bullet never let me down. (4 Bear, 1 Moose , 1 Wolf 1 Deer)

Don't use SST on moose. Too thin a jacket. I use Partition on moose.

150 grain Nosler partition.

150gr core-lokt has put down many a moose and deer in my group of hunters.

I also shoot a .270win. Just picked up a .300wm for moose hunting and had the same thought.

I will likely switch to a 150gr round - whatever groups best out of your rifle. If you re-load, try some different combinations. If your shooting regular boxed ammo, try a few different boxes and see what works best for you.
Most bullets you buy now days hold together and perform well, from my experience.

Lots of time until moose season, hit the range, try some ammo, and have some fun!

I use a .280 Rem, very similar to the .270 Win. A 150-grain Partition is hard to beat.

I shoot a .270 with 150 gr bullet for deer and moose. Love it.

I would second the 150 gr nosler partition I loaded up some in 7mm-08 for deer and moose. Also use partitions 100 gr for deer in my 243. old 243

I don't recommend the Nosler 150gr partition for deer because deer are light boned and the partition may not expand properly. For moose, no problem.

That's not true about the partition. The front end is designed to open quite violently and the rear is what penetrates.

Ding ding ding winner winner moose dinner. All the moose I have shot with the exception of one was killed with a Remington PSP CoreLokt hand loaded. The exception was with a Winchester Power Point. If you want to spend more on bullets go ahead but it is not necessary. Whatever makes you feel good.

I've always found that the CoreLokt in an appropriate caliber does a good job. That's all the guys I hunt with use, in various calibers, and they have always performed well.

The Remington Corelokt Bullet was the first controlled expansion bullet on the market , did a good job way back when and still does a good job now.

Rem core lokts and Winchester power points have never groups well for me... I wish they did since they are cheap to buy!
Shoot what groups best in your rifle, try a couple different types in a 150gr. Hopefully its the cheap stuff that groups best for you.

For me, Winchester ballistic silvertips give me 1" @ 100yds off the bench, which I will take all day long. good ammo for the money..

Since you are reloading
try some barnes
either 130 ttsx or 140 tsx
good for both moose and deer.

I'm glad to read the good reviews from you guys with Remington Core-lokt .270 ammo. I just bought a new Ruger M77 Synthetic-Stainless and put a Nikon 3-9X40 scope on it. It bore-sighted dead on at installation. I can't wait to get this baby to the range. I'll use both 130 and 150 gr. Core-lokt.
