I see one place today at 1,13 l I almost shat a brick ,how is it right with oil at less the 50bucks a barrel ,D
Wait untill they slap on a carbon tax shortly, won't that be wonderful.
Why, because the oil companies know they can get away with it. No ones screaming or demanding their heads be put on a table. It's time for the public to start making some noise. I can remember back when they tried to raise the price of a gal of gasoline by a nickel and the public went wild, and within a day or two it was lowered to just a 2 cent increase. Nowadays, it's oh well, there's nothing that we can do about it...
IMO: We can scream all we want but as long as the government continues to get their cut from taxes, etc the prices will remain high.
Higher the prices the more $$ the government will make.
All they will say to us is "Don't like the price? Don't buy it"
Pretty much Jay.
Don't like Bank fees, loan rates, fees for investment accounts, RSPs and TFSAs, MFs. Keep your cash under the mattress, pay bills my snail mail, don't use debit or credit…..
Like it not they have us over a barrel of oil.
Not something I follow closely. Supply/Demand reserves and more.
All I know is that the "necessities" of life are sky rocketing and Johhny Q is hanging precariously and it "could" go south in a hurry if a perfect storm forms.
good job Ms Wynne
For the last coupla months they have just been conditioning us for the up coming $1.75-$2.00 per litre scam I'm sure we will be sure to hit. They gonna git from us what they can while they can.
outback
Get rid of the gas guzzler
It would be akin to say that not only do they guzzle but also snort based on the decisions made in this province.
Maybe if the public stopped giving Petro Canada their bucks, someone might take notice. If I did facebook, i'd put it their.
Still .48 cents a liter in Michigan.
Venezuala pays 4 cents per gallon, thats 4 cents US so of course you need to work in the exchange rate, drives it up big time.
I noticed that in the Dominican too, @ 9 cents and not an oil field or refinery to be had. Here's what I figure. Go to places like that and look at all things. I mean every fisherman in his 8 foot plywood boat has a new 9.9 merc on the back. Pile of cake right, maybe 2500+ up here. So I figure it comes down to a "Who can pay, who can't who will and who won't averaging thing". Follow me. Lets say merc corp wants an average of 1200 per engine to make decent money. OK. The Dominican, well if he can put together a 100 bucks it's a miracle so lets bop him for 100. The yank, well he can afford more than anyone but if You try to bang him for more than a G note you'll be put to death. Now the canuk don't got as much as the yank both in money and in sack, so we can hit him for 2500+. He'll pay it, he's a good wee puppy. 2500+100+1000=3600Divide by 3 and the average price merc gets is,,,,,,,,,drum roll. I've watched it play over and over with many articles as I world travel
Ya ... I noticed when the barrel went up $3 in one day, gas went up 12 cents the next day ... so much for delay.
The other thing I am trying to wrap my head around is diesel ... I remember diesel always being about 10% lower than gas, but today in my area diesel is 20 cents higher than gas ... refining is the same, the fluids have not changed ... I cannot logically figure out the reason for the higher than gas diesel prices.
Ya basically that which goes into my diesel truck I could darn near drive up to an oil Derek and say "fill er up" and I'm 28 cents more. Perfect. That is so the long hauler trucks pay more. You and me pay more for what we need to live and on and on the cycle of rich getting richer is perpetuated
$1.14 earlier this week in Sudbury. 20 cent difference between Sudbury and North Bay. The Bay has 1/4 the population, but cheaper gas? Explain...
The oil companies know that within 2-3 days most who need a car to get to work would have no choice but to buy gas. It would be far more effective to completely boycott just one oil company. Shut down all buying at Shell or Petro for 30 days and watch prices tumble.
Ok starting right now I will not get gas at Petro canada who's in shi t I will cut up my petro points card if we get 110 people to go for it
ill
I've seen that sent around by email, posted on bulletin boards, and Facebook for as long as there has been an Internet. Never worked before and never will.
I remember a big planned boycott about 16 years ago. I was working at the local Shell station at the time. Guess what...... busiest day the station had all year.
LSC is back at a 52 week low and gas is still over a buck. Blame it on the faceless, nameless refineries!
Heard the US is maxed out they have so muched refined they have no where to store anymore
And oil keeps making a lower low in pre-market trading. Good thing there is no relationship between the price of a barrel and the unexplained spikes at the pump!
$1.39 here. Luckily there's only 20kms of roads up here . Although its expensive for boats in the summer.
Last night , I filled up at $96.9 /liter drove down the road and at the Petro Can station on # 8 hwy just south of Cambridge, it was $100.9 per liter
