Lay trespassing charges and check to see if her dogs at large (off leash) have rabies vaccination and Dog Tags and report her to the local municipality for not !
Is there any backstory that goes with the video? Hard to judge just from that. I'm sure we can make safe assumptions but some details would be nice.
I would talk to a CO and the police as far as harassing hunters and trespassing. I wouldn't expect any results but maybe they would talk to her and see what kind of person she is. Just make sure you are doing everything "above board". TC
Sorry, no idea where, or the story. It just came across my 'feed'.
That's a tough one for sure. I think that asking her to stay away and leave was appropriate. The threat of rcmp - I'm assuming this wasn't ontario so hope never to run into this lady! Last thing you want to do is be confrontational.
The guys handled it well. All you can do is politely ask her to leave - making sure to inform her that her actions are illegal.
I'd definitely report her to the OPP or RCMP and the MNRF.
She mentioned that she called the RCMP,so,it's safe to assume she isn't in Ontario. I'm fairly certain that Ontario is the only province that has a harrassment section in the FWCA. Being tempted to slap the shyte out of her is a given, but,it's good the hunters didn't do that. If she's trespassing, all you can do is escort her to the fence line and wait for the Police. Other than that, there isn't a whole he** of a lot you can do.
Is this where our days afield are going?

She recovered from her injuries, and was charged( not allowed to be sneaking around hiding in the pond as she was), the young boy was NOT charged as there was no way he could have known she was hiding in the pond.

When they ask we need to be ready to give Anti's a very good answer.

I believe this to be the video from this story http://www.chathamdailynews.ca/2012/...lawful-hunters
The gentlmans name is Rob, but could just be a coincidence.
Smile, say have a nice day, and pull the trigger
I dunno, when she says "You guys are a-holes," the first reply in my mind was, "Well, yer dog sure seems to like us." :)
Take a giant crap in her garden.
Well in Ontario it would be illegal to do what she did. They have video proof so I would report her and have charges laid. They handled it well which frustrated the crackpot even more, too funny.
Or, my buddies and I would have held hands, danced around and sang happy birthday, yellow submarine or some other random song to watch her head explode in frustration.
I heard from the proprietor of Gun Mart years ago they has a similar situation near Brockville during Turkey season....lady went out with pots and pans and walked thru the field a couple of hunter had set up their decoys in.
They called the OPP and they showed up while she was in the 'act"....she was charged and fined.
I think one of the best things you can do in this situation is to take out your cell and call the cops. Let them see that you're doing it. Ask them to wait until the cops get there to sort it out.
It's never happened to me hunting but I did have a guy confront me when doing photography for a documentary project. He was quite irate and demanded I cease & desist, accused me of taking his picture without permission, offered to implant my camera where cameras should not go, and then made a remark about calling the cops. I said, hey, that's a good idea, you can even use my cell. Held out the phone to him and he walked away.
The hunters handled the situation perfectly. As much as I'd love to see a person like that pretzeled and thrown off the property, staying calm and using your brain instead of brawn is unquestionably the right decision.
A friend and I were on a bunny hunt on Public Land in early Feb of this year and after firing at a fleeing cottontail we had an irate fella start screaming at us from approx 200-250 yds behind us. He marched all the way over to us with his 2 dogs demanding to see our licenses and a slew of other nonsense screaming the entire time. When I politely stated he had absolutely no authority to demand to see licenses from us and that he's interrupting a legal hunt he closed the distance of the last 40 yds like he was going to start throwing punches. To make a long story a little shorter I managed to talk him down and in the end claimed he's actually a bow hunter and that he apologized for having an emotional response, and said "you guys look like you know what you're doing and good luck". In the end I kinda felt bad for the guy as you could see in his eyes there was nothing going on in his head....only emotion(s). Just a wide eyed screaming face. What a rush though, lol.
I hunt the eastern section of the Ganaraska Forest several times over the season and usually run into folks like that a couple of times a year. It's best to let them blow themselves out, wish them a good day and ignore them. They only embarrass themselves usually in front of family and friends and I just love leaving them with egg all over their face.
rcmp do run in ontario... mostly in ottawa area though... but i do believe that the hunters did the best thing they could... film her and ask her to leave politely the way they did... they get my thumbs up
Considering they could not invoke the three S rule I think they did a great job dealing with that crackpot.
Obviously joking about the 3 S's.
I'd handle it the way they did. Keep calm, ask her to leave. If the RCMP or whatever showed up, I'd tell them I was conducting a lawful hunt and that she was trespassing and interfering in a lawful hunt. I don't think I would bother with reporting her unless she did something crazy. No need to escalate it unless something happens. I am assuming this was a lawful hunt.
I had one run in like this while grousing in Simcoe Forest last year. We did much the same thing, stood still asked her to leave us alone and that she was interfering with a lawful hunt. She also claimed she called the police, we said we would be happy to wait with her for them to show up. Suddenly she wasnt so interested lol
Yep. Good for him for playin it cool. A lot of guys would have probably gone F'in bananas on this person for their ignorance. I think he did alot to help hunters by being calm and collected. Good job
If it happens to me I will definitely call police and insist on the person being charged. The law is the law and the fact that people disagree with hunting does not exclude them from it. If enough of these rabid antihunters get charged the word will get out. I would recommend hunters keep a laminated copy of the actual law in thier kit to confirm to the police that this is in fact the law. Many wouldn't know or would not want to proceed but then they have to explain why they are not enforcing the law when asked to. We need to be intelligent when protecting our rights but need to be viligent also.
