I am going there for the first time for work reasons just for the day. Anyone know any good places for lunch or anything I should go see while I'm there?
Thanks

I don't know of any place up that way but safe passage my friend...
Not big on eating out but the Boston Pizza at 1108B Pembroke St. East (in front of the Walmart) was good when my son took me there for my birthday.
You could park downtown and have a walk around to see all the murals. There's a real nice waterfront park on the Ottawa River too.
Perkins Gun Shop is worth a drop in (1106 Pembroke St. West).
What brings you to our neck of the woods?
-Fresco's on Pembroke St East if in Pembroke
-Danny's on Petawawa Blvd. if in Petawawa
-Madameek on Pembroke St. West or Victoria St. if in Petawawa
You can take a drive around Garrison Petawawa and check out the sites.
As said before, there is Perkins in Pembroke, but you can also check out Valley Guns, and Full Spectrum Gear in Petawawa, and if you have time, head up Hwy 17 for another 25 min. and go visit Terry at Deep River Outfitters, has a great shop.

Don't forget cheaper Quebec beer is only 10 minutes east of Pembroke.
Best samich in the Ottawa Valley is at Lakeview Deli in Cobden.
As already stated, Madameek is a good lunch spot. Can grab a bite there and head down to the marina and eat at one of the picnic tables for a break from work. I see you'll be travelling from Vaughn, Perkins is absolutely worth a stop to have a look! Very different atmosphere from Bass Pro. ha ha
Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I had the subscription to this thread on but didn't get any notices for replies. I actually had to stop short in peterborough and head back home but I will be going for sure the beginning of next week. I have an electrical supplier to the area that I need to go see.
Pike are biting under the bridge to Quebec if you have time to wet a line.
Funny thing we visited friends in Pembrooke many years ago(maybe over 20) and I fished in some park with a river running through it. I remenber how good the bass fishing was right in town, fish after fish... Now I know this isn't much help, but brought back some memories...
