HORRORS ! This happened in ONTARIO.

For those that say "I'm glad I don't live in the U.S."
Todays news at noon, CTV. reported a shooting in "VAUGHAN", a gunman went into a café in Vaughn and opened fire and then disappeared , leaving two people dead.
This does happen more in the U.S. but only because their population is about 10 times more than ours.
As I have said before our society and certain segments of it are seriously eroding, there are too many that have absolutely no respect or regard for human life.

To the victims families our condolences.

There's a big difference between the two events. North Carolina was a mass shooting by a racist nutbar. Vaughan,given the time of day and location,was likely a targetted mob hit. Apples and oranges and an exceedingly rare occurrence.

Professional or not , does it really matter the fact and the end result is two dead and it happened right here in good old quiet Canada especially Ontario!

There are very few random shootings!.. Money, Drugs, Love, and love gone wrong. Add in a bit of racism or religious fanatics. Those are the factors to drive a person to kill another. Wait for the rest of the story. It will come out...

No one is saying that the "sky is falling in Ontario" but why is it some say I'm glad I don't live in the U.S. , but they think nothing of going down there for holidays, or even spending the whole winter, that's something that really baffles me.

I know of many people who no longer even go to Florida because it has become so dangerous. I was just talking to a retired coworker who spent the last three winters in Florida and said this was his last. He was seriously threatened at a variety store and all three young men were packing and felt his life was in danger. A couple of his other friends had similiar confrontations in the same general area and have also decided not to go back. I think you will see this more and more as time goes on in the U.S because its not getting better. I spend very little time in the U.S and may slip over to Port Huron to shop at Gander Mountain or Dicks Sporting goods only 30 mins from my home. I won't even go near Detroit that is less than an hour away from my home and know people that have been mugged and beaten up badly.
Not my idea of a vacation to live in fear.

10 per 100000 die by the gun in the USA and 2 per 100000 in Canada. Regardless of population size you have a better chance of firearm related death there.

I went back and forth every year (sometimes twice) up until my mid 20s.
Florida was ALWAYS dangerous.

If it was a bad divorce or jilted lover,someone would be in custody or,at least,they'd know who they're looking for. The Police certainly wouldn't be stopping traffic one day later canvassing for info if they had anything. That's not a good sign. I'm thinking a botched mob hit with colateral damage much like the Russo incident. The "lunch bucket mafia" that we have in this province are not known for being overly intelligent.

they said on the radio that this was the 8 murder in this area in 2 years and only one arrest ever... they say it was probably a hit thats why as well as the other 6 murders .. thats why no one has been arested they know better than to open there mouths

No stereotypes just that fact the news reported victim ties to the rizzuto fam. Stereotype would be saying it was mob of the hit was at a LUNA job site ;)

Yeah if they are wrapped up in it no one is going to say a word. You guys live in smaller towns. The gta is becoming one infested cesspool. Can't wait to get out of here and just worry about whether or not the fish are biting every morning.

This city boy (who has been around the block 12 dozen times) finds it interesting that when you said mob, you immediately thought of Italians.
Now granted, it was in Vaughan, but there are also the Vietnamese, the Chinese, the Jews, the Russians (who jail guards will tell you, are the most feared), etc. etc. etc.

Then, to that list, you can start adding in biker gangs...
