My son and I got our tags in the mail today. Check your mail boxes.
Me too!!
.....runs outside to check the mail......
Slowly walks back in.......antler only tag.
Got my Antlerless tag too. Can't wait
Nothing in my mail box tonight. Wasted my time going down there. Usually only check the box once a month.
Tried the phone line and the only options available were for moose and elk draws.
I think you are too late for the initial draw. This should help...

Sorry, I didn't type that correctly. I tried the phone line for the big game draw results, and the only options were for moose and elk.
Antlerless results are out tomorrow.
Got mine today :)
Just checked online and didn't get an antlerless tag.
the mnrf must have screwed up...
Woohoo! Just checked online and I got one for 67, first one I've gotten in 5 years.
Just checked online and I got an antlerless in 63A, even more excited for the season now!
Update: Checked my girlfriends as well (1st year in draw) and she got the same so two in 63A now
Our group of 5 got skunked in 46 for the second year in a row.
Frustrating after how many doe we seen last year.
However, we all put in for 47 as a second choice. Why is it we are all unsuccessful in that draw as well when they issue surplus tags for purchase in 47?
2 for 2 in wmu 65!
Screwed. Didn't get one. Every year there is less and less
Bucks only for the wife and I.
If this means the population will come back I am all for it.
Successful in 93 again this year..No additionals, so happy to have a doe tag.
Wife and i got doe tags for 87!
For the first time in three years,I got an Anterless Tag in the mail on Friday (WMU73). I likely wouldn't take a Doe,but,I regard the tag as an insurance policy against a screw up when hunting heavy brush.
bucks only for our camp this year, I can't remember the last time this happened. pressures on, lol
The wife and I both drew for 65, waiting to check on our daughter. We have a lot of does on our land, but we don,t target them specifically. Last year we took a buck and a doe, same the year before.
I checked on line. I was unsuccessful for 49 and 53A.
So far we are 0 for 5 in 46.
Nothing for me. Buddy got one so thats at least 1 in our group. Not sure how anyone else did.
Nothing in the mail yet, but checked results online. No tag for me this year, but given our group size, and tags available I'm sure we got a couple.
No idea how it happened but we got 10 doe tags in our camp out of 12 people applying. Area 61
Got my doe tag for area 60
Like the trophy I shot last year in thick brush, couldn't tell if it was a limb or an antler. Just wanted until I was sure.
Attachment 30419
But it doesn't sound like it's the case of Mike, if don't want to shot he breeder why apply for one? Unless he wants to shot a fawn.... (nothing wrong with that)
Just checked I'm good for a doe in 94.
Seem every year I have got a doe tag , even though they say the population is down.
I have seen more deer since they said the population was down than ever before.
Good luck to all of you this season.
Checked yesterday. Was susccessful in WMU 77C. Got a plan moving forward as a buddy of mine also drew an antlerless. Property we hunt is bows only.
Got my tag for 47......
[QUOTE=kokes;915493]Was there even any doe tags for wmu 49 this year?[/QUO
success rate for 49 has bottomed out the last 2 years.....down in the 40% ish range
When you're running the dogs and they are hot on a trail, if they push a Doe out in front of you , you shot it....if you let it pass because it wasn't a Buck...you might as well head back to the camp and pack your stuff...
Checked online and Dad, brother and I were all successful for 64A this year. It is typically a high success WMU but I didn't get one last year so nice to be back on the successful side.
Second year in a row, skunked.
No tag for 56, or 62.
My dad's usually luckier than I am, hope he got one...he was the only one in camp last year that did.
Successful in 79!
My brother, dad and myself all successful in 47! Pumped for our first family hunt
You had mentioned dogs specifically in your post - "When you're running the dogs and they are hot on a trail" that's missing from your quote - but I get it now. That you mentioned dogs made me think it was specific to dogs chasing deer.
I tell my guys, if you don't shoot the deer, at least rope the dog.
2 so far for the crew in 59 and another 2 for 65.
Got mine for 61.
So looks like my camp got nothing!! 0 for 8. Gonna have to work really hard to get some bucks.
0/5 in 49
Got home from the camp today and there was my Doe Tag for 60.Fourth year in a row for me and I have shot bucks every year, nice to have the option if things get real late as it did last year.
I got 1 for 46. still have 3 more guys to hear from but we'll be happy with 1.
2/12 doe tags in WMU 60 and no moose tags either.
Two antlerless tags in WMU 13 for me. If it's like past years there are probably more tags available over the counter as well, although the population took a hit in past winters. My dad drew a bull tag in 15B too, it'll be a busy fall.
I live on the border of 90b and 91b. Got 91, my second choice and my son drew 90, his first choice.
53A:
Last year we went 1/3 this year it's 0/3
wmu 61... 6 people in camp, no antlerless tags. Last year we had 4 antlerless tags for 6 people.
Got my two 7b tags...can't wait !
None for me in 42 and 65, again.
Both my son and I drew antlerless for bow in 87. Now I have to work at getting him in front of a deer.
We just got another two in 59 to bring us to 4.
I'm in 90b and this is the first year since they have offered antlerless tags that I didn't get one :( TC
both my son and i put in and neither of us drew a tag 90
I drew for 49.
Antlerless in 75 and my boy Lemmy antlerless in 56.
outback
Both my son and i put in for 90 but only got one. I got one in 91 though, which is across the road :-)
No antlerless for me in 90a…must have terrible luck. Guess I will be on the ducks and geese instead.
The antlerless tags are for 90 as a whole not separate tags for 90A/90B......i also have never heard of someone not getting a tag in 90 if they applied.....has always been 100% success rate.....maybe for the first time had more hunters apply to this area as other areas have been cut dramatically....
1 for 7 so far in 63A. Five more to hear from. Last year the tags were issued at the 41% level. I suspect it is reduced this year. Last year we left 3 doe tags on the table, hunted bucks only second week. Looks like it will be two weeks of bucks only. We drew no moose tag for 63A. The hounds will get some exercise this year. Hopefully the bears will be front and center.
Both me n my buddy apply for 90 n 92 n didn't get tags n my nephew apply 92 also did get one this is first year I never got a doe tag n there was 1800 tags in 92 n 1100 in 91 n 1200 in 90 there is a lot more ppl apply that way if they don't get deer in gun hunt they can still hunt after with there bows is what I here from ppl every where
I got one in 76 this year, bow only. :) now just hope the one I have on cam sticks around a wee bit longer!
Got mine for 89
Surplus 'Antlerless' and also 'Antlered or Antlerless' are now available over the counter at appropriate Service Ontario offices, where available for your WMU.
I started hunting in 63A in 1999, the deer were not heavy, a few years in to hunting there we would see a lot of deer, maybe 2003. In the last 7-8 years though the numbers have dropped off like crazy.
That being said, when dad started hunting there in 77 you would be lucky to see a track for 8 guys for a week, let alone "only get one tag".
I really hope this reduction in antlerless tags makes a difference in deer population and I also hope it makes a difference in the number of hunters for that 2 week period.
I don't hunt deer there anymore but I plan to head over for grouse in early October and see what the sign is like.
We got 1 out of 3 for 46. Seems like its back to the way it was 5+ years ago...
I applied for zone 81 antlerless .....no tag. My son applied for 82 .....no tag. We did get our second choices but it's a lot farther away. I'm thinking they reduced the tags since the zones were 100% just two years ago. Wonder if the controlled hunt validations will be reduced in zones with a controlled hunt?
Anyone know if the 2015 tag numbers are available on line? I'd like to see if they reduced the tags.
Somebody responded to a post back in June that the MNRF wouldn't have any reason to reduce deer tags given the severity of last winter (it wasn't that bad) ...... guess they saw it differently.
I took the time to find and compare the number of tags released in 2015 to other years eg 2013. There really isn't much difference. I'm wondering if the number of hunters is up significantly in each zone. There seem to be a lot of hunters not receiving the tags applied for.
So far we've got two for WMU 49. Still waiting to here from two more in our group. It's about time as we have an abundance of does up there and had no doe tags last year. Had to let a bunch walk.
We have 1 for 4 in 61. It seemed to be 50/50 in past years. Anyone else draw 61 antlerless?
0 tags for 12 guys in 61, we're going to be chasing our dogs all over the place
