Hi guys,
Not new to hunting, but I am new to Upland Game Hunting and I am looking to get into it this fall. Any advice on some areas to go on crown land where we can bag a couple birds and not bug anyone while doing it? I am located in Oshawa but am willing to drive a few hours north to make it worth it.

Are you hunting with a dog?
Sorry, I should have mentioned. No dog yet.
How far are you willing to drive? The upland hunting gets better the further North you get.
no dog than I'd be heading north as far as your comfortable to drive. Look for cut over areas a few years old. Walking old logging roads would be the way to go.

OP - check out crown land use atlas (online), couple hours north you will start finding grouse.
all I will say is get the best boots you can and a great pair of upland pants to protect your legs from all the pickys ,,.also spend some time on the skeet range before the season ,,good luck ,,Dutch

x2 - while moose hunting I can shoot my limit in minutes on some days. The farther you head north, the better. I usually find them feeding on old logging roads and trails. If your walking, look up often, as you can occasionally spot them in the trees as well.Quote:
