I head out tomorrow to WMU 46. I booked off vacation time. I can't back out now.
Ya, putting the brakes on until the weekend at least.
Yep,us,too,although we're hunting within an hour from home and buddy has access to a cooler. If it wasn't for that,I doubt we would go out,at all,until the heat drops off considerably.Quote:

We've been out since the 1st north of here. I sat for 9hrs today and 6 1/2 lasterday in this heat. The bears are moving during the day. I had a sow with 3 cubs come to visit 3 different times thisday. Lasterday I bumped the sow and cubs going to the stand. Just gotta have a place to cool them down after the shot. There be bear meat in the freezer already and hopefully more to come. I really like the corn fed bear.

How does the heat affect bears behaviour will it delay them denning if its still warm?
I will be out tues thur sat and sunday the wife gets Monday wed and Friday Its nice that it only takes 5 mins to get to the stand
Most Bears will lay down around 12-1 pm and come back around 4-5 pm all summer long.
I'm heading out Friday morning heat or no heat. Already booked it off work. I'm hoping for the best.

Friend just got back.. shot a bear first day.. said he sat in the stand in his boxers was so hot
We were hunting in shorts and cut off sleaves! idd remove my boots once set up. That was a first for me in tree stand. saw lots of bears and they new i was there for shure! Didnt seem to bother them to much (maybe thats why we didnt see the really big guys we had on the cams.Quote:

We are back, went up for two nights. We were in Haliburton area. Three stands and saw easy 20 bears between three of us. We brought two good bears home.
