There may be life yet to the Conservatives chance to win another one. JT's comments certainly do make him look like an imbecile not a PM in waiting. The CPC are now polling in the lead for seat projections.

They'll all take us back into deficit (its a thin and subjective line), but Harper won't sink us as deep or as often. Despite what TM promises in the way of a surplus (Seriously, Tom???!!!) he'll sink us the most. JT simply made the mistake of admitting that his plan requires a deficit and he has tried to sell this as an honesty virtue. Hudak tried that strategy in Ontario and it was disastrous for him.
Harper can't control what the Arabs do and the price of crude oil nor can he control the mess at the EU/ Greece. What he will do is respond intelligently and control spending. The two other idiots will shove another knife into our fragile economy with massive tax increases like Carbon taxes which will drive up the price of everything we consume. Sucking disposable income out of taxpayers is no way to stimulate an economy. You also can't spend your way out of debt. Running a temporary deficit for extraordinary circumstances ( like war, global recessions ) is one thing but adding debt for public sector raises and feel good programs just does not work. I think JT's shift to the left and big spending/big tax agenda has sunk him.
I'm Conservatives all the way. Definitely the lesser evil. No one likes government, its human nature. Doesn't matter who gets in people will complain. Go with what you know. Liberals and NDP would be the worst thing that could happen to our country right now.
Unfortunately I'm convinced that Harper will be lucky to get a minority and if he even manages that the 2 losers will form a coalition and take him down.
Unless the pollsters have had this wrong from the get go, I have to agree. The 'time for a change' message might resonate with the undecided vote when folks go to mark their ballots.Quote:

Never before in the history of any democracy since the fall of the Berlin wall has the media attempted to influence an election outcome like the Toronto Star,The CBC,the Globe and Mail and the National Post. Given the times, with so much uncertainty here at home, abroad be it China, be it Russia, be it the EU, US….or Syria/ISIL/mideast. Given the state Ontario is in with it Debt,soaring Hydro and taxes…Can the typical stiff without the security of PS and Pensions or good jobs afford a double whammy ( more at the federal level??)…

A lot follow politics and a lot likely know the polls, and know it's still too close to discount anyone but EM.
In the end as it almost always does, it will be decided in Ontario, and it will likely be decided by a number of key ridings. And if we have learned anything the past 10 years, a lot can change in election night, when the undecided swing voters, get off the couch.

Politics is little more than a numbers game, in some ways quite easy to figure out (see Ontario how and why the Unions are SOO important), yet still hard to "predict".
ALL parties are extremely good, extremely careful about what they sell the public. Extremely good number crunchers, and know how numbers games work.
Because in truth they usually are just fighting for that small silent "majority". A small percentage of the electorate. And the rest (their platforms) is just bs smoke and mirrors.
Theatre.
It's still up in the air, a lot could decide last minute TM is just too out there, but are tired of Harper, and so........
Actually know someone who plans to vote JT, because polls are predicting a NDP win and that scares her. And she feels that Harper will lose, so her vote for JT is about helping make sure

If I had to bet, just had to bet right now.
I bet in a C or L minority.
TM is looking good right now, looking like he might just....who knows, the pundits and what not if/when he loses it, and saying "what happened" . They might suggest a number of reasons.
I'm guessing he peaked too early, gave the swing voters too much time to think about him. And like the woman I know who suspect her vote on Harper might be a waste...

My monies on a Conservative minority, with a chance at an NDP minority. I dont give the Liberals any shot (barring something huge that sinks the NDP).

So far (key) the NDP largely have been given a free pass. If as we draw closer they could see people go back to the L or C. As much as many are tired or hate Harper, still a lot who think the NDP would be ruinous. Depending on ALTA where their policies are killing them now.
It truly is too close to call so far. Something big needs to happen to mix it up one way or another. I predict a tiny Conservative win then a Lib/NDP coalition to topple the CPC at first confidence vote. The trending seems to show Mulcair losing his strong lead and being a near dead 3 way heat. This will be fought commando style in the streets riding by riding. Large cities have the seat count and Harper doesn't do well in large cities.
