Trail Cam Recommendations
Going to be looking at replacing my trail cam in the future and wondering what others are using and their experience is.
I have a Primos Truth Cam 35 Ultra that is under 2 yrs old and has performed fairly well, however in the last couple months it has started flying through batteries (AA) like candy and most recently does not store the date and time adequately.
After speaking with tech support, found out the internal battery that holds date/time is toast and cannot be replaced.
What are others using and do you have any recommendations? Things I will be considering most for the next one will be sensor delay and battery life, in addition to holding date/time. I find I don't need a 10MP image of an animal's eye colour but just the basics that perform well and accurate to give an idea what is happening.
Trail Cam Recommendations
I was saying in a thread a few days ago the following (don't cheap on SD cards and batteries ):
I have Simmons, Wildgame, Stealthcam, Spypoint, moultrie, and a Primos. I know it's stupid to have so many but I ask.for them as my big gift from Santa and don't complain with what I get. One is the land owners and one is another guy with our camp. They all work fine. The Wildgame and Spypoint have the best images but I don't like the WG trigger as much. Moultrie has a great trigger but I have had great night shots. it's the A5.
Bush what I would say from my varying experience is they are all decent. Use quality batteries and quality SD cards.
I buy my SD cards at Canada Computers that are $5.99 for 8gb in a micro SD card with the full size adaptor. Depending on what I'm. doing I will either trade the card out and leave or I bring my daughters Dell Tablet and load the SD card and take a look. The SD cards I use are "A data" brand and say right on the packaging that they are rated for outdoor use and a good temperature range. I use them for security in the winter.
