Weather in itself has no effect on the breeding cycle, it's controlled by daylight hours, so as the rutting season approaches the activity will increase regardless of how cold or warm it is.
Weather conditions might affect how and when they move however, so it may pose a problem for some. The Deer's body are getting ready for winter and they might find that the heat of the day is uncomfortable so you will probably not see them in open fields during daylight hours, but they still need to eat and drink 4-5 times a day so you may have to move into the bush (shade) where it's cooler to find them moving about.
May have to adjust our hunting tactics to find out where they are...but they are out there and active regardless of the weather.
Thanks Mike pal for the information much appreciated. We mostly hunt the bush aways cooler there but thought maybe with the warmer might not see bucks chasing does.
Good luck

Well say here or Texas deer will rut , cold weather make them more active needing more food ,warm, but deer have a gland tied to there eye sight reacting to the day light hours and moon and trigging the rut hot or cold
Our groups biggest concern is preventing spoilage of anything shot early in the week.
When it's cold ...without question deer move more. The rut will go on for sure but perhaps a little more nocturnal. If your not using hounds then try to figure out what stage of the rut you are in and get a game plan. I would think bucks are still checking scrapes, rubs and does. Getting a little more aggressive a good tactic is transport (very carefully to be scent free free) dirt from one scrape line to another scape line...even break off a piece of the overhanging branch and put at different scrape. Being down wind does not always help because the bucks circle first before moving in and the wind swirls and changes direction so don't hunt right over it but back off quite a bit and you just might get lucky and you catch him circling
I stand corrected. My apologies MikePal.
Paul
North wind always been the best for us, e.g. the doe, fawn and buck I saw last night while on my bow stand around 5:20pm, so I moved my week off to the second week of the season. As mentioned previously, they move a lot more during the day when it's cold.
i suppose hanging the deer for a few days wont be an option. straight to the butcher with this weather.
Many hanging poles are located for the view instead of the aging effect on the meat. If you can see the hunt results as soon as you swing in the driveway, then you will probably have to get the meat to the butcher quickly.....If the deer are hanging in the shade in a clump of evergreen then you will have more time....
If I'm fortunate enough to get my buck, it'll be going straight into the garage for processing. Cutting table is all ready.
I like to let it tenderize first.....
Skin em hot, hang em where's it's dark. Get em in a cooler after 36 hrs if it's + 18.
i shot a buck Saturday night with the bow, gutted skinned n washed hot, hangin In basement of barn it will be in a cooler tomorrow and I'll cut it Friday.
There is absolutely no need to Hang meat. After rigamortise has set in your good to go. It's a little harder to work with but just as good if not better as the bacteria from would does not get a chance to grow
Cause it's beef. And it's in a temperature controlled There is more than enough studies done to verify my statement
I would love to find a butcher who would dry age a deer for me. Obviously it would cost more but from what I heard it would be worth it.
