Their hide sure make great hand warmers for your grips on an ATV.
Going to skin it out tonight if no trapper wants it, I have never skinned something so small though.
Be a good time to try that trick using an air hose to separate the hide from the carcass and just pull it back like a sock.
Good luck Fox. I am sure you will put it to good use but dont be worried about skinning something so small. Just take er slow and check out you tube for pointers.
Scalpels work great on them
Cool!
When did you start keeping Quail on the Fox Farm?
I'll take it if you don't want it but if your going to do it try not to hit the scent glands and wear disposable gloves.
Fox you could turn them into some nice gloves think Xmas gift for the wife OK maybe you need a couple more for gloves so get a few foxes with the rifle.
This thing was about 2in in diameter, not a big weasel. I skinned it out and did a really good job, except when it came to splitting the tail, buggered that up. I kept the hide minus the tail and tossed it into a bag and into the freezer until I have a few more.
It was a good experience, I assume casing other animals would be similar to this.
scarker, we got a pair of quail for eggs back in the fall, we had to split them up as one was pecking at he head of the other trying to get to the brain, that is the one that was killed.
Fox, can you post a pic of your lil ermine please?
This is a pic of one that was caught red handed my chicken coup a few years back;

Thanks Mike :)
Have never seen one around here.
Do you know that Ermine is considered to be one of the most luxurious furs in the world?
It is truly magnificent.
Hey Foxy, you might want to put that pelt on a stretcher to dry, rather than freezing it.
You get a lot of them Fox?
I hear they are real mean, tough little critters.
Haven't had any weasels in my barn after my birds, yet.
I know it's going to happen and am not looking forward to seeing what I am going to find in my coop that day :(
I had thick gauge wire installed all around the coop inside the barn but I think if those weasels really want in, they will find a way.
