Sites like Amazon.ca
Have any you guys used these types of sites? I'm looking to pick up a pop-up tent for ice fishing and CTC's price for a simple Frabill 2 man is $300. Amazon offers the same product for $189.
Why such a price difference and should I have any concerns with using a place like Amazon.ca?

For the first couple of years we lived here in Nunavut we spent a pile of money shopping on Amazon and never had a bad experience. Until they introduced Amazon Prime most things shipped for free which was a hell of a deal when you live in a remote fly in community. I would still not hesitate to order things to my house in Ontario (and often do). I have never found there to be a too good to be true deal however there are some things that sell for way more on their site. If you have done some research and found it is the best price then I would recommend buying from them. Make sure you are on the Canadian website and not the American website as the American site rarely ships to Canada in my experience. It looks like you are looking at the Canadian site though. Hope this helps and that I don't lead you astray.

My wife uses Amazon.ca a lot. She has very good luck with them, is always amazed at how fast the goods arrive. She has never had a problem with them, other than they sometimes double ship, and when she informs Amazon, they always say ... just keep it .easier than trying to return it. She finds their prices very good. Some goods are slightly used, and the ad the item is in shows that. She will use them again.

Never had a bad experience with Amazon. I clear the cache after ordering though - just to be on the safe side.

I use Amazon all the time for music stuff and have never been burned yet. Some times delivery can be slow but that's my only complaint
-
We have used amazon.ca a few times too. so far so good. Like it was mentioned before, just make sure you do your homework first and are buying the same item, you did your research on.

I've used Amazon many times, as previously stated, know your prices before hand...30 day money back guarantee is nice as well...never had a problem with them before.

I've used it many times. Never had an issue, except once. I ordered a pretty standard Timex watch ($40). For some reason, the lines must have been crossed in their order system and they sent me a childs watch. Contacted them and they immediately sent a new one, no comment on returning the old one. New one came, same kids watch, contacted them again, same kids watch. Kept all three and gave them away to kids I knew. Never got the watch I wanted, but got 3 for the price of one.

Yes, I do a lot. I never had an issue and the only time I have been shipped the wrong item, no question asked, free shipping back and credited quickly. Cheaper for me to pay shipping than go to the city
Just watch the prices though, not always the best and by far (I.e. Lee realized kit was a lot cheaper at cabelas).

I have had good luck with amazon.ca . On my first purchase (a Condor knife) I saved a lot, nearly 40% off anywhere else. On my second purchase (a Wheeler hollow ground screwdriver set) I saved about 15% over Cabela's. Fast shipping. So far, two thumbs up.

Sites like Amazon.ca
It's like anything online if you know what you are buying it's good. Pricing I find is great.

I use Amazon a lot. I've only ever ran into one problem over the years, and it was fixed promptly and painlessly. An item never showed up. I called to ask about the status. They apologized and sent another one. Two days later, I received the original item that was lost in the system. I called Amazon to ask what I should do, since they had already shipped a second one. They told me not to worry about it - that it was their mistake, and I can keep both.
-
All positive here for Amazon, just make sure you check the price elsewhere and verify it is in fact the item you want, also check the shipping costs and try to find the item you want with free shipping. Some of the stuff from the U.S. on the amazon.ca site costs more for shipping than the cost of the item. Lots of good prices especially if you are in the boonies and no big box stores nearby.

No problems here with amazon we have always had fast shipping.

Used Amazon over Christmas without any issues. I usually try to make sure the dealer if within North American (preferably Canada) so delivery is quicker. As others have said make sure the product is the exact one you want and know your prices. Far too many times I have seen things on Amazon for double, even triple, the cost of retail.
-
If you KNOW an item is exactly what you're looking for AND you find it cheaper on Amazon than anywhere else... jump on it. As others have said transactions are almost always positive, but in the last 3 years i've noticed amazon prices skyrocketing to be more expensive than most bricks n mortar stores.

Just about everything I buy is from Amazon.com - the biggest advantage is that you don't go running all over the place looking for something you want - you save time and gas money - and you have a big choice of items to purchase - otherwise you go shopping and come home with nothing because you didn't find what you wanted -
-
Amazon is good. No issues, and if you have ANY problem with the item - call the customer service # and they will bend over backwards to fix the issue..
-
Amazon and Aliexpress.
I use both with nothing but positive feedback.
-
To echo everyone else here I also shop on Amazon.ca and have nothing but good things to say about the shopping experience. Accurate, prompt deliveries. Costco is pretty darn good as well!
-
I got a gift card for Christmas so searched and most of the outdoor related stuff was extremely expensive. I ended up getting a bunch of books which were discounted and the shipping was very fast.
-
Only ever had issues with shipping, and it was only once. I waited over 2 weeks for something that was supposed to take a week, they not only gave me my money back but sent another one out. Ended up getting them both.
The problem only happened once and haven't had any since.

Amazon is great especially if you watch for sales. Twice now I've paid for "express" shipping which has come in a day late - not enough to get my knickers in a knot when I consider how far some stuff travels.

Thanks folks for all the replies. Three pages of positive endorsement for Amazon but I keep going back to what Frogger said: Quote: "My wife uses Amazon.ca a lot".
I think that's just about enough to scare anyone off.
