There actually is significant support for it once you get North of North Bay / Sudbury.
It's been identified as a huge issue with many communities. The governance is GTA, and Southern Ontario-centric, yet the North is constantly being treated like the poor step-child.
The provincial Government has made a habit of tossing the North table scraps, but fail to recognize how alienated folks up there feel. Then they make genius moves like killing Ontario-Northland Service to many communities that depend on it.
Can't blame them.
What's taking them so long.
They're afraid of what it will do to the economy, as some things are in fact subsidized by Southern Ontario, like Healthcare, and general government services.Quote:

Not arguing the North is ignored by Wynne as there aren't enough seats to matter. Elections are won in the South. As for the need for resources, most can be sourced elsewhere.

and I haven't even touched on so many ways the North subsidizes the GTA. Think TTC, Metrolinx/Go trains, etc. carbon taxes? The city is by far the greatest polluter. Who will carbon taxes hit the hardest? Those in the north and not people driving prius, or electric, or riding the red rocket

Such a lame attempt on her part, its laughable!
You may see the northern line swing south by a fair margin as in directly surrounding the GTA.
No one outside the golden horseshoe really benefits from this government.
