totall BS......thats like saying each and every home owner is accountable for these pricks doing home invasions and hurting people because there front door was unlocked.....this world is becoming way too much in favor of these low life scums...

Funny that you say that as there was a court case where thief broke into a home and tripped on a kids toy and was injured. The thief sued the homeowners and won a settlement for his injuries. Just put a sign on your windows and doors....saying Enter at own risk.Quote:

Welcome to Canada where:
1) The criminal goes free and the citizen arresting is charged (Lucky Moose case in Toronto)
2) A premier under 4 police investigations (including gas plants, election fixing...) can get elected
3) A gov't will change the law to allow Unions and reserves to hide how they spend billions of dollars.

I write quite extensively on my Facebook channel about rights/freedoms and the perception people have in Canada. You do not have freedom and democracy in Canada. What is freedom - the right to govern your own choices against the will of others? I make a choice and no government involvement should be needed (I am not talking about criminal activity) You have no right to self-defense verbatim - it has limitations, rules to be considered, such as equal amount of force applied that is being used against you. If a firearm or other weapon, bat, table, chair or knife is used...you will be charged and go to jail with criminal. Self Defense - With limitation is not true freedom. Property - You have zero right to protect your property, again if force is used to protect your property...you will be charged. There are many cases of this, as we are all aware and we have helped fund them. Freedom of protest - Although it is enshrined in the Charter of Rights and Freedom - You will require a permit to protest in groups of 3 or more. Latest example of this was a Veterans Protest on the Hill on 04 Oct 2016. Our group was denied access and ability to protest as one whole group without a permit. We were allowed to protest individually, but not collectively. One member was there at the entrance to center block and whipped out her sign as the PM arrived, only to be escorted off the hill by 4 RCMP officers, but not before the PM turned his back on her. Another was too vocal and escorted of the Hill. Freedom of speech - no bullhorns city of Ottawa by-law. You see what bothers me these days is I spent 30yrs defending freedom and democracy to learn you don't have them in Canada, or they are severely restricted. No I am not some crazy prepper or disgruntled Canadian and I am certainly a law abiding citizen who follows the rules. In the last 6 months, I have taken a different direction politically and switched to the Libertarian Party on both the Provincial/Federal Level. I am tired of given my blind trust to the 3 main parties and certainly have done my research on the LP Party. At the very least, this rights based group will, with enough votes shake up the system...and just maybe make those in power take notice of us the Canadian Citizen and our rights. Rant over.

government going after law abiding citizens instead criminals has become the norm. this hasn't happened overnight, but it needs to stop rather soon.

What I think is ridiculous is that the garage owner was judged to be 4% more liable than the mother who fed them alcohol. How does that math work? Did the judge forget to carry a brain fart? lol
I think it is sad that the owner of the garage is held responsible in any way. This is just silly.

Yep, and I'll go you one further. It also means that when its 10pm and dark, and some guy runs out into an intersection against a red light and you smoke him, your in a world of trouble. The way the law works is here in vehicle pedestrian collisions the driver is 100% guilty (liable) until proven innocent.......

I had an on duty cop witness the whole thing and a ton of physical forensic evidence.
The scum sucking ambulance chasing law firm "Pace" said the guy was enjoying a walk when out of nowhere I negligently and recklessly plowed into him.
Well despite the cop who saw it all, and would testify the guy was running, and into a red light.
~The dent in my right front quarter panel slightly above and behind the wheel clearly showed/proved point of impact. He ran into me.
~The dent on my hood and blood on my windshield proved forward momentum. Had he been walking as claimed the laws of physics demand that in car vs human..........
~Where he landed also proved somethings. Where my vehicle came to stop proved somethings, and so on..
100% guilty and liable. Then the lawyers start arguing.
"He ran into a red light" my guy ( the driver) is only 50% liable
"At night, no reflective clothing" My guy is only 25% liable
"On duty cop witnessed everything" no charges, no nada.my guy is only 10% liable
And so on
My insurance Co offered them some blood money to go away
Their reply
"not good enough, do you like your chances in court"
Courts expensive and who know's what some bleeding heart judge might decide. Even though your client wasn't speeding, he could have driven slower.

Alternate universe: What if he had been a slightly faster runner so the point of impact was the front of the car (and not the side) and no on duty cop to witness it all ( what are the odds of that?)......
