Way to go Stella!
Good luck and best of wishes being sent your way FFF.
Hoping to see pics in the am :)
Congratulations.
Everything went smoothly and all are well. Stella's going to have her paws full tending 7 pups.

Fabulous! How many are ya keeping :dog:
The purpose of the breeding was to bring up a male too carry on the tradition. 2 have already made the short list as they are nicely marked but have too see how they develop. The owner of the stud wants 1 possibly 2. So eventually will have too start finding hunting homes for the rest.
glad it went well. I'm sure they're going to be great pups.
Glad it all went well. I didn't want to say anything earlier , but things can go South during birthing time. Do you get her checked to make sure there are no dead pups inside?
Beautiful dog .congrats on the litter.
Congrats, have fun.
Nice markings. Seriously? This is how you choose a hunting dog?
Personally I'd wait until 8 weeks or so and pick the most independent pup all other things being equal.
Awe...Stella looks like a proud and happy mom in the picture you posted. Good girl! Congratulations FFF. :)
Where you up all night?
Well, I should have started with Congratulations!!!
Even in the same litters pups differ in temperament, structure and hunting abilities. The overall picture is hard to tell before about 6 month old, but the temperament (to Sharon's point) and structure are not hard to see at 8 weeks old. A dog with a good structure will hunt longer, better and have fewer chances of injuries.
Germans say - colour doesn't hunt! Colour is the LAST thing I look at.
finsfurfeathers congrats on the new litter of pups, i'm sure they will grow into excellent hunting dogs. Hope stella is doing well.
Pups developing well eyes are starting to open
