Last week, thieves stole all four tires and wheels off a disabled quad. Expensive for the owner. Happened between, 12.15 pm and 2:35 pm. in WMU 21A.
Sure put a damper on my hunt. Hard to believe that crooks were out scouting . They passed our parked vehicles to get to the quad.
Our group was about 4 miles away, discovered while returning to our stands. Small community up there, the OPP claim lots of strange things happen. We will never see the wheels again.

Sorry to hear it. This is something that always concerns me on a camp moose/bear hunt. There's a lot of expensive equipment sitting in tents & trailers while we're out in the bush.
Its sad that even if they were caught not much would happen to them.

This sort of thing happens quite frequently up here in the bush. And it isnt just happening to visiting hunters. Fisher folks, campers, etc. Outboard motors/boats, generators, atv's, chain saw's, the list is endless. The sad part is that someone, somewhere, is buying this "hot" stuff and then priding themselves on getting a deal?
There proabably wouldnt be a darn thing you could do against a large gang of them? Theyd laugh at you and take off. Or beat the crap out of you, then take off?Quote:

We were also hunting up in 21a last week. Spoke to a group that had their generator stolen right from camp. How sad, they had to go the rest of the week without it.

I had a brother in law who bought hot stuff all the time. He would boast about the low price for this that and the other thing in his house. Then he got broken into and they stole all the electronics. Man was he angry! He couldn't see the connection???!
