On last nights Nat. News

Torontonians , all for the " LIKE " Torontonians , ruined a beautiful sunflower farm.

by tresspassing , cutting off flower heads parking anywhere at neighbors, along a section of # 6 highway, police had to close it down for a while, all for taking selfies of themselves.
People were walking across a multi laned very busy highway endangering themselves and others, a highway that police claim has one of the highest accident ratios in the province.
PEOPLE ! how stupid can some be ? citiots personified.

I spoke with a few people today about what happened, and the general consensus is , " a high fence should be placed around toronto to keep them from running rampant and ruining the country side when they are out ". :D

There was an op-ed piece in yesterday's Toronto Star discussing the remote possibility that it could become a reality. The "comments" section was disabled (:rolleye: Gee,whoda thunk that?) It would have blown up their website, I'll vote "YEA". :moose:

I drove down Highway 6 last Saturday afternoon going to Hamilton and saw the commotion first hand. It's a miracle someone wasn't killed.

I drove passed that with my family on the way to Valens Conservation area. People were literarily standing on the road as cars were coming either way!! It was crazy

Saw that on the news last night, top of the scale looser was the pregnant one that just needed to have a picture in the sunflowers, god I wish people needed a passport to leave toronto.

Crazy , isn't enough to describe what was going on.
Don't forget, this is a multi [ 5 ] lane highway with cars travelling at high speed.

Here is more on the story. The owner, on Tuesday, was keeping people off the property and some people's true nature came out because they were giving him the finger and whining that they drove 2-3 hours to get to the farm and they deserved their picture taken. The entitlement some people from Toronto have.

Like the ad for African Lion Safari [ just down the road ] says " Go wild " :whacked: that's what happens when people from Toronto are turned loose in the country side. They do not know how to behave and respect property of others. :sad:

It is funny that on my property up north, the trespassers are all locals, according to the game cams. I guess they don't respect ownership by those who are not one of them, ie. local.

Soooo trespassers on your property are okay if they are local guys, but gosh darn they had better not be city folks. That is a point of view I do not share. The poachers in our area, that people know about , are all local men.

While not excusing some of the bad behavior the owner of the place is partially responsible for what happened. He invited people and charged them $7.50 a head for the privilege. He's been doing this for years and on this day the crowds got out of control. If the numbers in the story are correct he may have pocketed over $50,000 in fees. Not bad for a day's work.

I disagree. He didn't invite people onto his property. People wanted to come and see the sunflowers. Deciding to monetize what he had doesn't make him responsible for people's poor behaviour. If Sail decides to run a sale on ammunition, it bears no responsibility if I decide to act like a jackass.

This is not the first year that farm has invited people and charged them to visit and take pictures. They had a nice business going until it grew beyond manageable proportions because of social media promotion which the farm participated in. We agree it doesn't make him responsible for their poor behavior but it sure as hell does make him responsible for them being there in the first place.
