Hey guys,
This year my cheap hunting jacket from bass pro is finally blowing seams, been tossing around the idea of purchasing a sitka gear or kuiu jacket, anybody have an opinion or experience with one or the other or both? It would be a jacket for deer hunting, all day sits in the blind or stand

browning hells canyon 4-1 jacket has done well for me for doing the same thing, not cheap in its own right, but cheaper than sitka.
I have a Sitka Fanatic coat and bib outfit. Sat in -30C and was quite comfortable. You don't want to walk too far as you can work up a sweat. You can check out and try on Sitka gear locally at Canadian Waterfowl Supply. Check out their web page.
I wear Sitka as well as many of the guys in my group, had bibs that actually wore out due to normal use and they replaced them free of charge. it is expensive but they stand behind there gear and the quality is there. So many options compared to others as well.
I thought Canadian Waterfowl Supply was strictly an online store? But thats great as im not all too far from there, was kind of leaning towards Sitka because i have a hard time justifying forking over all that money on something i cant go and try on

KUIU makes great gear but it’s for active mountain hunting. Sitka Fanatic is a good jacket for deer hunting.
I use first lite gear. What a huge difference it makes when your wearing quality gear. I hunted in a down-pour and high winds last Monday & Tuesday. I stayed dry & warm while my 2 buddies were wet & cold & had to go back to camp after 1 hour. I shot a deer during that crappy weather so it was well worth hunting in it... :)

I’d wait til the end of the year to buy any high end hunting clothes. They always go on sale then. Don’t buy any of it at full MSRP.
Tons of good options out there, especially if you don't need camo. Pretty tough to beat Arcteryx or Pantogonia for insulation and then just a shell overtop. Arcteryx/Salomon outlet in Niagara Falls has some amazing deals.
Personally I have a hard time spending $500 on a jacket when I can spend $300-400 on a couple different pieces that will do a lot more for me.
